I played the game normally, last played back when Arrival came out. Recently my 360 (a launch model given to me by a friend who joined the Army last year) red-ringed, so I purchased a new one (a Final Fantasy XIII model, oddly enough still available... or perhaps not so oddly, considering the quality on that title).

I thought I'd done everything right.

1: Used a transfer cable to move over the data from my old hard drive to my new one.
2: Used Microsoft's license transfer tool to reset all my licenses to my new system.
3: Went through my entire download history and "redownloaded" everything that I wanted at the time (redownloaded in quotes because all the data was already on the hard drive, this was just me making sure the data associated itself with the system it was on).

I bought Genesis, and started a new profile to have a look at it, playing offline for a while because of the nature of my living quarters at the moment. I later carried the system back to the internet connection, intending to play while connected for a while.

Unfortunately I received the following message: "The selected save game cannot be loaded. The following downloadable content is missing: Normandy Crash Site, Zaeed, Firewalker Mission Pack, Kasumi, Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker."

Initially I attempted to go into the DLC menu, but that appears to be non-functional for me, which sucks, because the New Content Available menu is the only way I can get at my DLC list now. Using that, I set the system to redownload all of them, along with all the non-quest-related items I had access to just in case. [That's Blood Dragon Armor, Umbra Visor, Recon Hood, Sentry Interface, Terminus Weapon and Armor, Collectors' Weapon and Armor, Cerberus Weapon and Armor, Alternate Appearance Pack 1, Cerberus Arc Projector, Equalizer Pack, Aegis Pack, Firepower Pack, and Alternate Appearance Pack 2.]

When I tried to load this time, it told me only Zaeed was missing. This time I exited the game, deleted Zaeed entirely, and redownloaded him from scratch. It took a couple tries, because the New Content Available menu doesn't always appear. This time, when I attempted to resume, it gave me the same message that started all this - Normandy, Zaeed, Firewalker, Kasumi, Overlord, and Shadow Broker, all supposedly missing.

Strangely, when I attempt to play offline it works fine, which is pretty much the opposite of problem with the license transfer. So I'm very confused and annoyed right now. Any suggestions?

Wow...this is a new one.

The only thing I can think of is, maybe delete your game profile then recover it via xbox live.

Also, go into your System settings, look in your ME2 folder, and see if you can find anything unusual. I once had two copies of Alternate Appearance Pack 1 installed on my machine with different file sizes (I'm assuming one was corrupt) and it just F'd everything up for me.

If that doesn't work I honestly have no idea what to tell you. It looks like you've done everything right. Maybe deleted all the DLC and download it again?

I tried everything you suggested - saved the delete everything and re-download for last, because the connection here is slower than where I used to live - and still no. At least I can still play offline, I guess. I am genuinely stumped.

Haven't done this in a while. Daft question ahoy! When you write of a new profile in your original post are you referring to what the game recognises as 'career' or what we might call a Gamertag? (Just trying to see if there's anything we are missing here.)

You mention 'redownloading' via your download history (through account management I assume), and later via the game's own content menu. Perhaps you could try to just redownload (properly as it were, as in deleting the dlc beforehand) the one(s) the game isn't picking up on to save on downloading time.

Also, when in doubt and we fellow gamers cannot help you your last resort is EA Support.

Profile meant career, yes. Though in theory that shouldn't matter, as my understanding of the DLC process is that as long as it's tied to the console it should work for everyone using that console. And like I said in my previous post, I tried deleting and then redownloading and it still didn't work. So yeah, looks like EA Support it is. Belch.

Ok so you started a new career offline, but when you try to load that career online the game throws a great big sulk? I don't know why but it looks like since you started your career offline some bug exists such that the game wants you to continue that way.

Have you tried starting a new career while online, then save the game, and then try to load the save file both online and offline to see if it throws any error messages?

I think we can all agree that something very odd is going on. I was about to suggest recovering your Gamertag as you haven't mentioned doing that (still worth a go, mind you), but if that was an issue it would have thrown a wobbler when you tried to play offline.

Yeah, I did that, still no help.

Well, I just tried starting a new game online, and Genesis didn't even activate - and that one I bought on this console - so something is very definitely extra-wonky going on here.

Getting desperate: I would suggest that you make some checks as to whether your various accounts are linked together correctly. I have heard that EA accounts sometimes lose the default Persona (your Gamertag in this case); not sure if it will cause an issue but at this stage we're really grasping at straws.

Again, if all else fails EA support.

Talked to EA Support last night. All my stuff appears correct to them, and they were unable to assist. Said I need to contact Microsoft.

Guy did give me a $20 coupon code for the Origin shop, so there's that.

Well, okay, now it's working normally all of a sudden. How bizarre. Fortuitous timing, coming less than a day after I talked to them and they said the couldn't do anything, but whatever. Thanks for trying, and I'll be sure and let you know if the problem resurfaces (if only for information's sake).

Well, at least you got something for your inconvenience.

Here was me thinking that EA support would actually be able to provide an answer....
