Ok I just killed the keeper for Merrill's quest when she turned into a demon and left the cave and I picked the top option something like we didn't kill her but they still attacked me and I was like NOOOO cause I like those elves and I think I might of chose the wrong option that led into a bloodshed I was wondering what the "I will take full responsibility option" does can someone please spoil it for me? Is there a way to choose something so you don't have to fight them? Thank you.

If you choose the "I take responsibilty" option, the Dalish won't attack you.

OH dam thank you my friend I might try reload it if I can cause I just slaughtered the whole camp and it didn't feel right.

It means essentially that Hawke 'takes responsibility' for Merrill and prevents her from returning to the clan. Essentially, for Merrill, it's the same thing. Either the clan dies or Merrill is dead to the clan.

Yes, and if you do choose to take responsibility, then bring Merrill back to Sundermount later, the whole clan will attack you.
