Hey, I bought a retail (disk) version of Dragon Age: Origins 'Ultimate Edition' some time ago and had no problem with installing, playing and redeeming + playing the DLC packs..

Just recently my computer crashed and a clean install was the only option to get it running again, i chose to install and leave files as they are (so i didn't lose stuff).. This means that ALL my games and programs are on the computer, but NONE of them are installed..... I've slowly gone through and re-installed everything, until I got to DA:O that is.... I put the disk in, Autorun booted up and I clicked Install Game... Short pause, the splash window closes and then nothing, my computer doesn't even start whizzing to read the disk or anything.. I tried again, but instead clicked install Direct X in case that had to be done first for some reason, it ran and installed fine yet next time, the install still didn't start up.... I tried opening the disk in explorer and manually clicking setup.exe, but all I get is a short pause (with hourglass cursor) and nothing..

Having said all that, I went to the game directory, clicked the dragonage.exe and managed to get the game running! It automatically logged into my EA account which I used to redeem the codes and play.. I though sweet, went to 'resume' game and i got an error saying my save game includes extra content (which it listed) and that I need to log into an account that has these feature activated...... I go to the site and try to redeem the code, which to no surpise, has already been redeemed.. I uninstalled my game, to re-install it, but still can't get setup.exe work...

please please please help me.. Really miss playing this game :(

I just went through a similar need to un-/re-install the DA:UE (although for much different reasons.)

After your re-install you'll need to ensure that you have successfully started the game and logged in to the EA servers AT LEAST ONCE  in order for them to validate your DLC authorization before you'll have full access to all the DLC.

Since with the UE, everything is installed from the discs to your HDD during set-up, you don't have to actually go through another download, but the activation mechanism still has to kick-in before those modules will appear as "Installed Content".

There was a stretch of several hours this weekend when the EA servers weren't responding. Whenever I started DA it would say I wasn't logged-in, and when I tried to do so it would say that I wasn't connected to the internet, and to "...try again later."

Maybe you just happened to hit that same, or a similar period of non-response.

okay I know this topic is 8 months old but I'm having the exact same problem as the op in that I have the retail disc version of Dragon Age Origins Ultimate edition but I *can't* even get setup.exe to load to install the game again so I tried the same thing as the op and despite logging in and relogging into my account multiple times it still won't list my dlc as authorized and as much as I want to install from my disc Setup.exe seems to refuse to trigger no matter what. Please help.
