One last point, just because (hypothetically) they made a DA MMO doesn;t mean they would be turning DA:O into one. They could just as easily keep a SP and MMO of the same franchise going simultaneously. Or just do what they've done already and have a Single Player aspect as well as the Multiplayer.

I think a DA MMO would be lots of fun. Just because a game is an MMO does NOT mean its exactly like every other MMO. There's been alot of formula testing as far as that goes and the companies have discovered a winning one. However, there is SOOOO many directions a game could go with MMO still and I don;t have a clue why everyone stopped experimenting. BioWare could make something truly great.

I know... and I guantee that the majority of people bashing MMO's have only played WoW. It's unfair to think that mmo's can't grow, branch out, and try new things. Thats like someone playing Starcraft deciding to never play another RTS because they didn't like it, AND claiming RTS's will never change.
MMO's are trying new things and growing already! Look at Warhammer Online, it took what made WoW work, but put a huge emphises on PvP. The goal in Warhammer Online isn't to get the best gear or hit the highest level, it's to work with your side to overthrow and conquer opposing players capitols and crush their king. Age of Conan, sadly doomed by a horrible release, also tried to incorprate a strong story into their game and make combat real time. The recently released Aion puts heavy emphisis on the fact EVERYONE has wings. And hell, just look at what the Old Republic is trying to do...
The three released games I've listed had their flaws and certainly had many mmo cliche's, yet they ventured out from WoW's shadows and tried new things.
Like every genre MMO's will change, grow, and evolve over time. IF a dragon age mmo was ever made, we're looking at at least eight years from now... and if you beleave you can judge what mmo's will be like in a decade, your simpley a fool.

Honestly, I would actually see this happening before a DA:O mmo. I think mmos will start to move away from the fantasy genre into the sci-fi genre. With warhammer 40k mmo on the way, a new star wars mmo on the way, and very possibly a starcraft mmo... Mass Effect very well could have a mmo in it's future, espcially considering the fact the trilogy will be ended before we know it.

You say they could still make SP games separated from MMO? I say open your eyes to reality. Lol
my honest opinion on the matter.

I can guarantee that the majority have not only played WoW. Most of the WoW hate comes from those who play different MMOs, and the people are on these boards are heavy gamers whether they realise it not, hence actually being on the board.
I myself have played many MMOs, including WAR, and you are mistaken if you believe that it is not about gear as well, have you actually played it or just listened to the marketing PR BS? Most people believe that MMOs are the same because they are the same, and the few that are not quite often fail. I still play MMOs, but I am under no delusions about them, and I would not want a DA MMO, there are plenty of other MMOs in development and it would compete with it's own single-player games, therefore they would not want to make any more of them.
