I am hoping for a spring 2013 release myself.
Only if you want another bad port likeDA:O, that's the reason early software release in a new console cycle is always (with very few exceptions) worse than games release in the last year of the previous generation (see the ps2\\ps3 example or ps1\\ps2, n64\\game cube, xbox\\xbox 360 is an exemption because microsoft pulled the plug to soon on xbox), the only feasible new console to put DA III will be project cafe if the architecture is indeed similar to an ATI r700 chip and doesn't need complicated stuff to port it over, and being EA (they also already have dev jits for the console) the publisher i assure you that they will make the all the effort to release in almost all similar hardware possible88mphSlayer wrote...

Apparently Witcher 2 is coming out for xbox360, though. So that argument no longer needs to apply.Shallina wrote...
You all forgot something very important.
Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 are PC only games, wich mean they got more power and possibility than with multiplatform that need to stick to the lowest system.

Thats the scalability of their engine.
Console / PC / tablet / phone comparisons aside - it just goes to show if you make an engine with a high level of scalability - you can appease the hardware requirements of everyone pretty easily.
On lower settings TW2 runs smooth as silk on older systems, doesnt look too bad. On higher settings its brutal but looks STUNNING.

Well come on A LOT more people can run Witcher 2 on max settings (minus Ubersmapling) then DA2 on max settings. Witcher 2 at least looks gorgeous so I can understand the performance hit but DA2? Not really.
It's been a week and there is gonna be a patch that improves performance also. Also another patch is on the way after DA2 hasn't been patched for a long long time.

While they are at it, they should change the music. It has a few very nice tunes (like part of the main menu music) but most of the background music when running around... man, i can't stand it. Sorry, Inon Zur.
I am sure he knows it.. He was pretty much the first one to admit it.

In the Wounded Coast I swear the music sounds like it's coming through a low quality radio...yet I play on a 5.1 setup with a Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium card.

And they have to go back to paying attention the little details again. I mean in the Witcher 2, the city starts out dark at night and person actually walks around and lights the torches all over the city.

Thats an easy answer. The engine DA2 uses takes a massive hit on Nvidia cards, regardless of patches for the game and the hardware.
Also...I think most gamers these days tend to be gamers first and techies a very distance second (or third). As opposed to it being mutally exclusive. Change of the times. PC gaming is now just another gaming platform as opposed to a way of life

yeah, same dx9 graphics card for me - DA2 looks more dated than Oblivion, TW2 looks unbelievable, Crysis 1 & 2 looks amazing, Metro 2033 looks amazing
DA2's graphics just aren't good, even compared to 360 & PS3 games

I still vote for a new engine, thats as scalable as the RED engine. Better yet, pay CD Projekt a boat load of money for their engine.
