Below is the solution for problems with the arena pit fights in Zorvak'mur, the illithid city.
(Special thanks to The-Krit from the old Bioware forums for helping with his suggestion!)
Problem symptoms:
_ You keep getting the message "there is no fight going on, talk to the Pit Boss" even after placing a bet on the fights.
_You get stack underflow with the act_q2d2pit_1 script when talking with the pit boss.
_You get "UNRECOGNISED TOKEN" error when talking to the pit boss.
The solution is as follows:
_In the nwm folder of your install directory, make a back-up copy of XP2_Chapter2.nwm (so if anything goes wrong you can revert to it).
_Open toolset. If you can't open chapter 2, simply drag the XP2_Chapter2.nwm into the toolset to open it.
_Go to the Build menu, and select "Build Module".
_You want "Unused" and "Missing Resources" to be unchecked, and "Compile" to be checked. Before you hit the "Build" button, check "Advanced Controls" then uncheck "Creature CR", "Encounters", and "Palettes"; you're only interested in compiling scripts. Hit the "Build" button.
_When the build is done, hit the "Done" button.
_Select "Save" from the File menu and save the file.
_Enjoy betting on the fights in the pit.
(Although tested and appears to work perfectly, please don't hold me responsible if anything goes wrong. Remember to make a back-up of the XP2_Chapter2.nwm just in case)

I get all three errors, tried solution and no change.
After the build finishes it says "no errors were found."

That's strange... Did you make sure you're compiling the right file (XP2_Chapter2.nwm) and not chapter 2 from SoU or the original campaign.
Did you make sure "Compile" was checked.
Did you remember to Save after build was over?

Check on all three, I followed the instructions to the letter. Backed everything up (put backup in zip), opened XP2_Chapter2.nwm, checked compile and unchecked the other 2, build, after like 2 minutes it finishes and at the bottom it says "no errors found", I still saved after. No change at all.
I tried it 3 times, gave up and just moved on.
Anyways, I just finished SoU. I'll try again my second time around xD

Works like a charm.
Thanks alot ZFR, I was wondering what the pit is for. A decade has passed and it's just now that I was able to see what's happening down there.
Might as well copy and save your post with regards to the fix, in any case I get nostalgic and decided to play this game again. (I don't trust the internet, files and inputs come and go. =P )
