So, I'm playing along this weekend enjoying the new twists added by the mods I've added since last I played (UB, NPC 1 Project, Level 1 NPCs) and start working my way from Nashkel back north after finishing up the Nashkel Mines and Valley of the Tombs.

I come across the Archaeological site, saving the site itself for last.  Finish up inside, grab the idol and head out to fight the Doomsayer.  He appears and my party does what I always do, size him up to see what's working and what's not.  Get a couple of early arrow hits as he moves toward the party.  Usually he asks for the idol, I say, "no" and he chases us and tries to wipe out the party until he gets it.

This time he just swipes the thing like a thief and heads north of the site and, "poof," he's outta there?

Like I said, my party was just "probing" him before going in for the kill so I made no effort to pummel him quickly before he disappeared like I would say, Daer'Ragh, who I know is headed out quickly.  I looked all over for him, even went back inside the site, but he was history.

What gives?  Anybody else seen this?  Was there someway I could'a found him?  For my part, I just chalked up to an unexpected plot twist but still wish I gotten those experience points.

Oh yeah, one other cool think happened that I'd not seen before.  Dynahier's journal - we got it back!  And you'll never guess who brought it?  (well' yeah you folks probably will).  That was a twist I'd not expected.

It's a bug. Happened to me once or twice. He's gone for good. If you need the idol for another quest (it's required for a quest mod), you'll have to SK it in. The item code is "MISC48".

Thanks Flamedance.

Another weird thing I experienced has happened twice now - once when approaching a merchant at the Nashville Carnival and once near Fisherman's Lake during the battle with Zekar (of Teyngan, Jemby and Zekar) fame.

Suddenly I get this rather "queer" dialogue that refers to Ajantis (who's not in my party and hasn't been) and some other dude but my PC is speaking in response - it's uncomfortable.
