Couple of tnotes:
1)I don't think Windows Firewall has anything to do with this, unless its settings were changed.(Outgoing connections -> deny if no rule)
2)I use it in almost default setting with tweaked inbound connections rules - public IP is bit problematic...
Anyway I don't recommend disabling it - it is adequate unless changes to seting were made.
-and it is considered good security precaution to disallow by default inbound con.
(And if same changes done to third party firewalls same issues will appear or they'll loose their effectivness ; as it would happen to Win firewall. It is using same approach with same effectiveness as they)
As for questions about new programms - neccessary as malware tends to abuse connection for spreading or other activities (control servers,...) This can help stop it before starting.
3)Peerblock and similar special firewalls tend to block ports used by services like Steam or Cerberus netwrok.
That is all,happy logging...

I installed from offline installer (D2D), applied 1.02 patch and installed all DLCs I had (everything but Shadow Broker, Kasumi, Appearance Pack 1 and Genesis). I did not try any other solutions before disabling the Windows Firewall service, so that was definitely what was causing it for me - not cookies or anything else.
PS. I've got a full antivirus and firewall suite installed, so whoever is about to disable their Windows firewall, make sure you'll stay protected first. This is kind of obvious, but still.
Edit1: Turns out this solution only works until I restart my PC. Once restarted, even with Windows Firewall still disabled, the autologin starts failing again. Until then it works like a charm. Good thing this game doesn't require online connectivity to play singleplayer.

not sure if anyone is still reading this thread, this worked for me (got it from another website)
1. Start the game.
2. Go to Extras->Options->Online and set Auto Login to EA Online to No.
3. Exit the game.
4. Restart the game.
5. Manually connect to EA Online.
6. Go to Extras->Options->Online and set Auto Login to EA Online to Yes.
7. Exit the game again. Auto-login should work from now on.
solution is only for when you have to log in to Cerberus network every time you load the game. (game installed on PC via DVD disc).
if it doesnt work, sorry.
If it does,
