for shotgun i mean.
i was wondering, can you even pull off a headshot with shotguns?
i mean with all 8 pellets hitting the head.
wouldn't 2-3 of them just fly off to the either side of the enemies head?

I'm not the best shot either, but it's very doable with the Vanguard, given the slo-mo at the tail end of a charge. Soldiers can do it too, as long as you're in ARush.

I would claim that it is in fact much easier with a Soldier than with a Vanguard due to the fact that when a Vanguard charges an enemy he is staggered which cause him to move or wriggle his head in a way that makes it hard to predict where to aim at. A Soldier for the other hand does not have this problem and can be much more precise and in control.

This is true for all the non-DLC shotguns.Bozorgmehr wrote...
True, but to have all 8 pellets hit (the head) you have to shove your shotgun in their throats to make it work. Overall, aiming for the chest will yield better results - a more reliable way to one-shot enemies.
With the Evi, headshots are easier. With the GPS, you can always get headshots when you're within 10 meters- it's practically a 3-barreled sniper rifle with ridiculous shield piercing. An Infiltrator with (in my case, Enhanced) Cloak and headshot visor can one-shot most enemies this way without charging the GPS.
TL;DR: If you are into shotgun headshots, use the Evi, or better, the GPS.

I typically use the Claymore on my Vanguard but now I'm wondering if the Eviscerator's lack of spread would be considerably better if you landed consistent headshots. Headshots with the Claymore are unreliable due to the spread. So would headshots with the Eviscerator be better than torso shots with the Claymore (using reload trick)?

For everything else... you should aim to have the upper notch of the reticule at the top of their head so you're pretty much aiming for the throat or upper chest, to ensure you keep 100% of pellets hitting the target whilst getting whatever head-shot bonuses you can for high pellets.

I usually don't get OSOK to the body. Then again that's nothing an elbow or two wouldn't fix

A Claymore shot in the chest will one-shot normal grunts with 2 or 3 SG upgrades (NG+ Insanity) easily - only at point blank range though, you need to be as close as you can get. If you're playing Vanguard and use Heavy Charge, you should always aim for the head - the time dilation and staggered enemy make it easy. Without these effects, plus Shep and his/her target are moving, make it very hard to land perfect headshots. Going for the chest is an easier and still reliable way to dispose enemies quickly.
P.S. I always hit melee when firing the Claymore, even when enemies are out of range

When it comes to mooks if I take a "center of mass" shot after a heavy charge I can pretty much guarantee they'll live. What am I doing wrong?? [For OSOK I have to go for a head shot]
