Human - Asari Reproduction Question
#1

I had an interesting thought that other day that I'd like to share with everyone. I was wondering if a Female Shepard and an Asari such as Liara got together and conceived a child, who would actually give birth to the baby? Would it be a human baby or an asari baby?
Thoughts,

But yes, it'd be a little blue squid headed baby

The one who will give birth would be Liara. The baby will be 100% Asari, having some of Shep's "randomized" genes. Apparently asari markings are from the "father", so I wouldn't be surprised if the child ended up having ...I dunno, peach coloured (If your Shep is "white") markings on her face. (In my mind, she also has my FemShep's green eyes.

Are you sure about that? Maybe they impregrate people like in Aliens ._.
Yes, that's how they reproduce...by melding. They can have absolutely no physical contact with the person, if they wish, and still get pregnant.

Combat Suits do more then just stop bullets and protect you from space, radiation, etc. They also prevent unwanted alien pregnancies.
The more you know.

The child will not inherent anything biologically from the father.

Taken from the ME wiki:
"This reproductive process can lead to some confusion among non-asari, who might expect offspring with "mixed" genes. However, the offspring is always 100% asari as no DNA is taken from the partner, but is rather
used as a "map" to randomize the genes of the offspring." The second strand is based from the "father".
Talking about face markings: "In concept art, Matriarch Benezia's are described as tattoos; however, they may be genetic, and may denote the "father" species (as Samara, and Morinth, the daughters of two asari, have none)." It's unclear where they are from actually, but there's still a chance it is from the "father".

The real question is, which one gives birth when the parents are BOTH Asari?
Whoever wants to be. She'll have to do all the work, though.

If the child is 100% asari than there is nothing inherited from the father.SilentNukee wrote...

All the father does is help randomize the mother's DNA. (as stated)
I'd argue it's more likely they're cultural.Talking about face markings: "In concept art, Matriarch Benezia's are described as tattoos; however, they may be genetic, and may denote the "father" species (as Samara, and Morinth, the daughters of two asari, have none)." Either from the asari's culture or the father's (e.g. turian facial markings).

Why do Asari have mammal lady parts if they just press their head against their mates head and make psychic babies?

Well that makes sense if you mate the way that mamals mate, but they don't. So it strikes me as odd that they would have a uterus despite the fact that nothing ever goes up there. From a biology standpoint it's rather backwards.corporal doody wrote...

Is there an alternative? Say, budding?

then how do you explain the "AZURE" slang? and do asari pop out of warts on their mother's butt? what is the purpose of breasts on an asari if not breast feeding and possibly attracting potential mates? a place to place their weapons on?

You don't think it's at all odd for animals that don't use reproductive organs when they mate to have reproductive organs? Imagine if a tree had breasts and a uterus. It's just strange and not intuitive to how species evolve, that's all.corporal doody wrote...

I don't get your point. Asari don't use the uterus to mate, but still need a birth canal.

It should be noted that breasts being used to attact mates is very limited to species on the planet earth let alone other creatures in the galaxy.
Then again Asari are all but human anyway, so whatevs.
