I certainly was. The Grand Cleric is the most useless person there. Not only did she not watch her lunatic fringe groups carefully, she didn't try to take a stand for anything. You could say it was due to her religious beliefs but if that were true she would've been more firm in remaining neutral to the politics around Kirkwall.

What does she do? Absolutely nothing. All she ever offered anyone were a bunch of empty anaologies about the Maker.

Maybe some of you might disagree, but I think even a religion needs to take a stand in conflicts like that. The Chantry was just hypocritically ignoring atrocities and turning about face to their own involvement in some instances. The Grand Cleric didn't bother doing a thing. She just strikes me as irresponsible and two-faced behind that kind smile.

She's a coward and I'm glad Anders was able to make use of her. After all, in politics, if you're not going to get more power then you can sure as hell bet that someone else will. It's partly because the Chantry didn't take a stand that the situation deteriorated as it did.

I'm never happy about anyone dying, but I don't consider Elthina a terrible loss.

What do you expect? It's one of the biggest WTF moments in the game. It's made to make you think and make you have an opinion.

I wasn't happy, and I never am at anyone dying. I would have been delighted however if Meredith, Elthina, Orsino and the Divine all presented their resignation. And Anders was thrown in a mental hospital. Oh and Hawke buying himself a hut in some remote location and just spend the rest of his life there.

It took me a while to realize how great it was but once I realized that it was great I was happy. I would've been happier if Dulsi and Emile were in there though

If we're blowing up useless people, I'd like to nominate Hawke and Orsino.

Not happy about all of the innocents who died, and the resulting war, but the explosion was GLORIOUS!

Anders took the Rite of Annulment... and threw it on the GROUND!

He's not a part of this system!

I'm not sure how I feel from a plot standpoint, but that scene was SO COOL.

So, I knew what was going to happen once he mentioned the ingredients he needed. They have cognates in English that were big clues.

I thought to myself, "They're not going to let me avoid this, are they?"

And no, no, they didn't. I did feel a bit railroaded. Had I been allowed to, I would have stopped Anders.

That said, the explosion graphics were pretty damn cool.

As a player? Thrilled.
The Hawke I was playing? Utterly crushed.

Although you could refuse to help him infiltrate the Chantry.  Which is something, considering the plot significance of said event basically being more than high enough to justify it being mandatory.

This has nothing to do with anything, but are you named after the tiny shorts worn by Japanese boys in 70's kaiju movies?

Got it in one!

And the tiny shorts worn by leading men at the beach and pool in crappy Hollywood B-movies in the 1950s.

It, like my signature, is a MST3K reference.

While I agree that in certain situations there comes a time in which peaceful protest and compromises are no longer viable, I'm not sure that I fully endorse what Anders did. I have not yet reached a consensus.

I'll always believe in the cause though. Freedom for mages!

Nope. I just sighed and went "goddamnit Anders." and started cleaning up his mess.

I was happy that Anders gave me an excuse to get rid of those pesky mages once and for all. Starting with him.

I was only angry that he let them off so easily, and didn't let me help.  If it were up to me, I'd have blood controlled Sebastian and forced him to kill Elthina himself.  Then I'd release him from it and raise her corpse and have it kill him.  Lulz for all.  Well, except the fascists, but who cares about them?

I was a bit shocked but not angry. I never liked the Chantry or the way mages are confined so whilst I don't condone acts of terrorism, I wasn't about to kill Anders over it. (And I rather wish Sebastian had been in there but, oh well).

Everyone keeps throwing 'terrorism' around every which way. How many of you realize that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter? Don't believe me? Look at the American revolution. The Founders of America were considered terrorists to the legitimate government of the King at the time.
