By that logic, everyone in DA2 is going to be out.  Because everyone in DA2 is awful at everything.

Well Petrice was the most pro-active one. In two acts in fact.

I am trying to find something I like DA2 here, ok!

Seriously.
At least Petrice is good looking.

Damn you Xilizhra for making me want a Petrice romance too much! :P

Hah. At the moment you said that, my Hawke was asking for a kiss from Merrill.
But... hm. My current crack Hawke LI is Meredith (aside from LIs, she's the one character who holds Hawke's hand, among more plottish things), but I can still get behind the Petrice thing.
I have an aggressive rogue Hawke made to side with her, but I kind of like being diplomatic more and I'll probably just console cheat with my mage to do so.

Deserving death, eh?  Afraid I don't subscribe to the notion.  There's no proof she even knew about abuses in the Gallows in any detail.  By status quo I mean Meredith being in charge of the city.  Someone's got to be, eh?  Or do you think she should play kingmaker and appoint a civil ruler, too?

Templars are no more supposed to hold political power than mages are. According to Cullen. As for her not knowing about the abuses, she doesn't refute Hawke's notion that they're being "brutally subjugated" and says that she doesn't approve of Meredith's methods.

And civil governments aren't "supposed" to collapse.  Stuff happens, vacuums are filled, etc.

She knows Meredith has a heavy hand- that does not equate to knowing all the details.  Granted, she didn't want to know.

Addai67 wrote...

So you actually want to see an Exalted March? Considering that this would likely mean an annullment of the Circle? If there is trouble in Kirkwall, the mages are going to be blamed, not the templars.

Apparently so. Which is why I'm hoping I get to see DA3 ending with my Hawke standing next to Anders on the smoldering rubble once called the Chantry of Val Royeaux.

Charming.  I hope to never see either of them again.  But I do think it's a possibility that the Chantry could be a smoking ruin.  Who do you suppose will benefit from that?  How would Anders look in a saarebas collar with his eyes and tongue cut out?

@KoP, I do think Petrice is attractive, but... what are you smoking? lol

Ok here's the thing.

I am obsessed with cleaness. A girl being barefoot 24/7 is EXTREMILY annoying to me.
I don't mind smuggling, steaing and assassinating, as long as you're clean :D

Hmmm, interesting.

Still, now that I am looking at her, I don't think she's that attractive. She lacks that something.

1. That would almost be a point, except that Meredith is actively blocking attempts to replace Dumar.
2. So we know she knows Meredith is breaking Chantry law, but you're saying we shouldn't judge her for not doing anything because we aren't sure she knows EVERY law Meredith is breaking. Brilliant!

I'm lesbian. So any impact the phrase has when it comes to romantic relationships is utterly lost on me.

I see you also share Anders' level of tactical and long-range thinking.  "Let's burn the Chantry!" without any idea what kind of chaos that would cause in Andrastian societies or what you'd like to see in its place.  Vive la revolucion.

Sex with your own gender is fine. Sex with genocidal lunatic... =/ History doesn't remember Eva Braun all that fondly.

I see it as more of a crime against common sense, something that no one in Kirkwall has anyway.

Common sense is an oxymoron, because it isn't that common at all.  :(

Poor trash, he was the ONLY templar Myhawk ever liked in Kirkwall.

Is your habit of referring to the non-nobles as trash deliberate, or just a very ironic mis-application of English?

I think trash=Thrask in this scenario, so more like a very ironic typo.

I certainly was. The Grand Cleric is the most useless person there. Not only did she not watch her lunatic fringe groups carefully, she didn't try to take a stand for anything. You could say it was due to her religious beliefs but if that were true she would've been more firm in remaining neutral to the politics around Kirkwall.

What does she do? Absolutely nothing. All she ever offered anyone were a bunch of empty anaologies about the Maker.

Maybe some of you might disagree, but I think even a religion needs to take a stand in conflicts like that. The Chantry was just hypocritically ignoring atrocities and turning about face to their own involvement in some instances. The Grand Cleric didn't bother doing a thing. She just strikes me as irresponsible and two-faced behind that kind smile.

She's a coward and I'm glad Anders was able to make use of her. After all, in politics, if you're not going to get more power then you can sure as hell bet that someone else will. It's partly because the Chantry didn't take a stand that the situation deteriorated as it did.

Anders was 'able to make use of her' ?  Wow, that's one of the best euphamisms for murder I've ever seen.  So, she didn't take a stand that you agreed with, so it was ok to kill her and a few hundred people in and around the church?  So, your neighbors dog cr*ps on your lawn...you going to 'make use of him' and burn his house down, make sure the rest of the neighborhood understands not to defile your lawn?

Anders was turned into a murderer.  Not only a murderer, but a stupid one.  His 'use' of Elthina gave cover to what the Templars were doing; if your opponent is painting you as a monster, it's probably not a good idea to blow up a church to prove you don't deserve to be treated like one.  If he wanted a civil war, he could have assassinated Meredith; military target; a valid one considering she was creating all the strife..and he would have gotten the Chantry to act as he wanted them too; instead, he guaranteed that the Kirkwall mages would be killed to a man and he validated Meredith's actions.  Stupid, stupid, and stupid.  You deal with his monstrous actions euphemistically because you don't want to sound like what Anders became.  Don't hide behind doubletalk.  You want to support the actions of a murderer, own it.  Say it loud.  'I think its okay to kill people that don't agree with me'.  It just doesn't sound good does it?

Mages deserve freedom; meh, maybe.  That's a debate worth having.  'I think its ok to butcher people that don't support my point of view'  That's not ok.  You support what Anders did, you've got problems.  Period.  Not a debate.
