You know, the first time I saw the Chantry go boom, I was mortified and had to step away from the game for a while because of the emotional gutwrencher.  I was appalled by what Anders did.  But a little consideration changed my mind, and I swear, the more bits I come across that I missed on the first run, the more convinced I am that Anders is a freakin' hero.

Well worded, and I agree completely. I had nearly the same reaction (just not stepping away from the game) and wound up at the same conclusion.

People defending Meredith's "decision," was the subtly of the idol lost on you? The last guy with it was cutting off people's fingers and feeding them to them so they could "hear the song." But yeah, she's totally thinking logically.

My first play through I kinda felt bad for Elthina because she seemed well meaning and all. Then I did another run as a mage and really tried all the options to get her to do something about what was happening in the circle. That's when I realized how useless she was. She just shrugs off everything and gives you some kind of platitudes. Elthina's inaction is a big part of why things in Kirkwall get so bad. Then I wished for the option to more actively help Anders.

... Anders' poop bomb

Isn't it actually pee?  Or rather potassium nitrate that through a chemical process forms out of stale urine.

Sela petrae is thinly disguised saltpeter and drakestone is sulfur.

Anders makes gunpowder which, adding a healthy dose of magic, creates the explosion.

I can call it the wiz bomb, if you prefer.  That has a certain ring.  Posted Image

I think "useless" is being kind to her.  Useless is a broken down car.  Elthina is a broken down car that chains its owner to the curb so they can't use any other means of transportation.

That Chantry is huge. Just how many peopl were in it? :?

Sadly, we don't know any more about that than we do exactly how many mages were still in the circle.  I suppose in a way it's kinda fair, as Hawke would not necessarily be privy to roll calls or anything, but it does leave the player wondering.

What did Quasimodo in the bells ever do to deserve this?

Woke people up FAR to early in the morning.

Now I understand why Kirkwall is full of lunatic idiots. Not enough sleep.

I mean seriously, look at Meredith's eyes.

Not to mention your "attractive." Peatrice's.

KoP is proof that you don't need to be a blood mage to unleash horrors beyond human comprehension.

Well spotted  :)

I first read The Summer Tree (book 1 of the Fionavar Tapestry trilogy) about 20 years ago and just loved it.  Great stuff if you like his style.

And that boys and girls is why the Qunari NEVER invaded the rest of Thedas.
Because somewhere, somehow....

They knew that there dwelled a person so bold.... so brave that he would get freaky with Mother Peatrice.
Bless you KoP.... bless you.

Several.
And if you want, an ultimate uninterrupted combo chain. You know, for multiple orga critical hits.
