Question about Elves

Are all elves supposed to be bisexual? Does this go along with the classic fantasy ideal of elven androgyny? I can't think of any elven Companions or NPCs (from all Dragon Age games) that aren't bisexual or, at the very least, confirmed hetero or homosexuals. Lots of elven prostitutes, too (men and women).
Okay, simple question over. Thanks.

The Warden can be a straight elf.
Yup.
In fact, as Xilizhra said, I think they would probably look down on homosexual relationships much more than humans. Being a dying race tends to put a premium on having lots of babies.

They are very keen on marrying elves to other elves to make *more* elves. Then again, one does not preclude the other. You could have a wife/husband to produce offspring while happily sleeping around with members of your own gender. Historically, it's not all that uncommon either...
If you're royaly, it's a veritable perk.

You can have a society that expects every member marry and have children, yet have every person be bisexual. You can have a society that expects its members to have relations with people of both sexes, yet the members could be a mix of sexual orientations.

The great debate... is sexuality biology or environment?

But it seems to be pretty common in Thedas, elf or not.
I think the dalish would frown on it seeing as they want as many liitle elves as possible running around.

I do have a feeling all elves are meant to be bisexual, or at least, bi-curious. Getting married and having lots of children doesn't mean the couple can't be bisexual. On top of that, there are a lot of elven prostitutes (mainly in DA2) and it seems all of them have no problem swinging either way. Its clear that most humans find elves particularly attractive, or at the very least, attractive enough to exploit or abuse. The classic fantasy description of elves always notes how beautiful, graceful, and elegant they are compared to humans. I also think there are a lot of real life Fantasy Genre afficionados that have a thing for elves. It seems like they are always linked with beauty and sexuality. Why not make them bisexual, as well?
All that being said, I like how they changed the physical depiction of elves in Dragon Age 2. There are actually ugly elves now. They aren't just petite, child-like humans with pointy ears. There are acually real anatomical differences. Bisexual or not, at least every elf isn't something any normal human would swoon over, man or woman.

Must be why they call it the Alienage...
But I'm not opposed to the changes, really. Like you said, they're anatomically different from humans now. And I'm sure I can make my elven Warden not look like an alien or a small human.

I thought we were already sure the answer was:
Yes.

And that's why they don't like it when one of their elves goes and has a human baby :<.
