Hello everyone,

I wonder that if anyone cares about using the
Defensive fire in the talent tree, since i've moved to many topics, but
not so much discussion about the efficiencies of using this skill, the
pros or the cons. I'm playing the archer rogue, so I tend to think this
is a good opportunity to check this skill. And here is the stats of my
character (just the base values, regardless the additional point from
the items):

Level: 17

-Strength 18

-Dexterity: 50

-Willpower: 18

-Magic: 14

-Cunning: 41

-Constitution: 12
With the additional items, I can boost my dexterity up to 65.
For the fighting with the tough melee enemies (such as revenant), I activate the defensive fire, this should reduce my rate of fire, but boost my defense up to 143. Which is nearly untouchable. I can beat these enemies easily without being hit so much. I accept the fact that my attack speed reduce significantly, but in exchange, I can stand longer in the battle or defeat the foes even before they can hit me :). So I suggest that this can be a good build for people who tend to build a high defense characters or have a low hit points, or even want to survive longer in the battle without pumping constitution or massive armor to have better protect from damage.
With the spell casting, this is obviously not a recommended build, since the chance of spell casting without being interupted is 100%. But about 80% of the attack of the games that come from the "physical" attack, such as arrows, swords, axes or maces. So why shouldn't we use them?
Of course I can make mistake something, this is not a complete build of my character, perhaps someone has better points about this. I write this just to share my opinion to use one of the good skill in the game that we may forgot . :):):)

I will have my archer use defensive fire if a tough battle is coming up and I think that they could use the extra defense, otherwise, I usually go with aim. Too bad archers can't use both at the same time.

With master archer, the +30 defense is certainly nice.

My archers generally dont get hit as i tank with my main, but for a solo play/play with no tank this skill is fantastic.

I have used this skill to fight with the revenant, the Ogres, some tough melee enemies such as Kolgrim, Jarvia, or even with Branka or Caridin, and this is pretty good. Not yet try with Ser Cauthrien but I will sool figure it out. So this is also a good skill in the hand-to-hand combat with the bosses.
