Best redesign would be the Qunari, worst for me would be elves

The only thing that kind of threw me a bit with the elf redesign is that they look like Na'vi.
That's the first thing that popped into my head.
It was a bit jarring.

But it's grown on me. So much so that I actually don't mind Zevran's new look (when I can imagine him having eyebrows...) Just wish the Keeper didn't look like her neck was going to snap like a twig.

The best redesign though I have to go with Isabela. Considering her look in Origins was just another random NPC to the dusky pirate goddess, yea, she got the best look upgrade.

Poor Al. Him and Teagan got beat with the DA2 ugly stick.
Then again, any dude with stubble seemed to have suffered from this. It was bizarre how very different the scruff was colored from their hair. It just didn't look right.
(Though the pores/five o clock shadow on Fenris looks FREAKIN' AMAZING...)

I was just happy to see Al show up in DA2. I was all, "Come with us!" and he was all, "No, I gotta save the world, kthxbai", and I had a sad. Still, good to see him, changed face or not.

Zevran's redesign doesn't bug me all that much. I think some of it has to do with how I had thought that his face just looked... odd in DAO.

And I definitely think Isabela got a good deal with the redesign. I wasn't all that keen on her looks in the first game, but dusky pirate gypsy works great on her.

Oh yes somehow I forgot about Isabella. Tied for best with the Qunari but in fairness she was a really minor character in Origins without effort into giving her have a distinctive look.

I think that was a not so subtle jibe at ''will totally have sex with'' and so that still works well enough.

I don't really have a worst/ugliest. I mean, I love that they tried to make the elves more unique, but they looked too much like na'vi. As someone said before, Merrill had an exotic beauty (I'd say the same for Fenris, but he never felt like an elf at all to me) that the others lacked. They just didn't seem to put as much effort into the rest of the elves as they did with her.

Also, not really sure why everyone's complaining so much about Alistair and Teagan. I mean, I kind of understand about Alistair, but even so. I was too excited about seeing him to be able to really care about how he looked.

I don't get the elf hate unless people are just 100% locked into the etherially beautiful elves bit. At least the "knife ear" jibes make sense now, in DAO the ears on all my elves were barely noticeable and mostly covered by hair. Most of the time there's no way anyone could have spotted me as an elf. I've never seen Avatar so the Navi thing didn't bother me but even seeing the pictures of them the elves don't look all that much the same.

Characters who look better than they did in Origins: Isabela, Cullen (yum! Not a drastic change - he looks very similar, but better), Leliana (ditto), Merrill (one of the few decent looking elves in the game), Flemmeth

Characters who look no better or worse: Nathaniel Howe (very similar, but with hazel eyes instead of blue - perhaps this was to bring his look closer to his dad?. Either way, the artist did a good job of recreating him). Anders (bone structure is much the same but I'm not sure why he has such dark brows and stubble compared to Awakening. The eyebrow shape is different which makes him look a bit less saucy. Still, he looks pretty fine).

Characters who got uglier: Alistair (who ate all the pies?), Teagan (why the red hair?), Zevran (I understand bringing him into line with the new elf look but please give him his eyebrows back)

Races: Like the Qunari - they looks properly badass now. Did not like the new darkspawn. Some of the elves looks OK but most were pretty ugly. Those bald, goggle-eyed male elves who hang round in Darktown and the Docks are downright creepy.

Every imporant character from DAO except Isabela and Flemeth(and Leliana, who pretty much kept the same look) looks butt-ugly in DA2. Alistair, Zevran, Teagan and so many more - Alistair looks like a retarded baby, Teagan is generic human NPC number 74 and Zev is...well, you know.
Elves as a whole(except for Merrill) look quite ugly and they're not unique at all - they look like the smurfy cats from Avatar although not blue.
Still, the qunari, Isabela and Flemeth are AWESOME.

Edit: Oooh, oooh, forgot Anders. In Awakening he was smoking hot and Janders in DA2 is just so...meh.

Best-Meh. I'd go with Qunari. I just hope if they bring Sten back, they can pull off the Hornless look.
