You didn't help Isabela, Hawke did. My first Hawke did so because she's likes helping people. My second Hawke did so because she enjoys a good scuffle and a good tumble.Collider wrote...
So why did I help Isabela again?
My third Hawke is more pragmatic and didn't bother with Isabela.

This thread reminded me that I need to become friends with Isabella so that I can sell her out to the stupid qunari savages. If only there was a way to kill both of them...

I assumed that in helping this random stranger, during an act in which the goal is raising money, that I would be paid. But unless I'm mistaken, you don't gain any more gold from helping Isabela than you do anyway from killing enemy fodder. So why did I help Isabela again? Just for the wild danger?
Isabela.

Jokes aside, does she even say she'll pay you? I can't quite remember at the moment.

But since I'm generally getting paid (or get the option) for just about every other sidequest in act 1 where I'm helping some random person, I expected to be able to get some coin.

Hawke: "I don't know if I can pull it off."
Bella: "Come on, haven't you ever wanted to hit me, even a little?"
Fenris: "Yes"
Anders: "Yes"
Bella: "I wasn't talking to you people!"

I do like that part. I always choose the "You're liking this too much," line.

I save her every time, just so I can get that quest and dialogue. It's hilarious.

My Hawke let her make the deal with Castillon. It's what she wanted, after all, and it made sense. The bonus is the nice discussion about sailing away together - it fits well with the romance.LobselVith8 wrote...
Does anyone help Isabela get her boat from Castillon, or do they kill him instead?

Romance character did, friend didn't; not to stop her getting the boat, I just wanted to kill the slaver.LobselVith8 wrote...

I'd consider her payment being her repeatedly risking her life helping you, following you into all the dangerous crap you get into. Not to mention she passes a job your way because she knows you need the money. If that's not enough then that's your fault, don't be so ungrateful.
