If you don't do it for the romance looks option or the fact you want to be a helper you can rationalize it like so. (Or at least I could.) I just saw this duelist kick the hell out of three armed men without breaking a sweat. Hmmm, she could be a useful allie down the road, she seems to know how to deal with trouble.
