I own ME1 and have registered it and have downloaded the DLC.  Note I had to go to the old site to do this as you can't even register ME1 on this site.

But for some reason I am still restricted out of most the sections here.  Do you have to register ME2 to get in?

Some of the forums do require ME2 registration, but there is also the fact that these forums are cobbled together with crap software and crap coding, so that sometmies even with registration, you still get the occasional message about not meeting the requirements to post.
