love the SR-2 , it's elegant , although it looks a bit fragile. When it crashes on the Collector home world i always wonder " huh? how did it survive that " ...

the other i like best is Voyager ( ST ) , more than Enterprise even. I like its more compact look.

I don't pay attention to sci-fi as much as others, so the Normandy is one of the most recognizable ships to me.  However, I wouldn't consider it "iconic" like the X-Wing or the Enterprise.

Not a bad list, but no. The Normandy would not be iconic enough, because there is many more who know star trek and star wars who never touched ME, therefore, the audience is too limited.

I would also replace X-Wing with TIE fighter and Klingon Bird of Prey with Klinglon Battle Cruiser.

#1 would probably be an X-Wing.

Klingon Bird of Prey - Original Star Trek

There was never a Klingon BoP in the original Star Trek. Even the first movie showed battle cruisers. Klingon BoPs didn't show up until "Search for Spock."

The only BoP in the original series was Romulan.

Fixed!  D-7 Battlecruiser it is.

That's what I get from going from memory rather than hitting Wikipedia first. ^~ (And after I spent a while trawling trying to find if Hotblack's ship actually had a name)

sorry do not agree, the original series only ran for 3 series and even then the D7 cruiser did not feature that much

the Bird of Prey heavily featured in star trek 3 - 7 ( 7 being generations ) and was the main ship in The Voyage Home, where the D7 only had cameo's in motion picture, Undiscovered country and had about a 2 second clip in Wrath of Khan.

The Bird Of Prey was also the primary Klingon ship for prety much the whole of the next generation, which ran for 7 series.

The starter ship from Elite. Described by David Braben as a slightly rubbish space ship. Mainly because Elite had such a huge impact on space sims.
