In another galaxy, trillion upon trillion of years ago, a last surviving race created the first Reaper. They used their own DNA goop to fuel the the thing. This was an attempt to ensure their survival, of a galaxy being destroyed by the laws of the universe. Being a star or two going Super Nova or watching their galaxy being swallowed by the black hole at it's core.

The first reaper left the dying Galaxy and traveled into darkspace. Coming across and setteling in another galaxy, the reaper began this process on the strongest race. Thus creating another and the process has evolved and spread throughout the universe. In the timeline of the universe, our galaxy is rather young. The Reaper or Reapers residing here, purge the galaxy of advanced intel life every
50,000 years. This ensures that no new lifeform will evolve into competition. The ones that pose the largest threat are reduced to form another Reaper or indoct to be used by the Reapers to assist their goals.

If the advanced races do not meet their set standards, they evoke an entire extermination, and the process starts all over again. The Proths seen this comming, and 50,000 years ago planted seeds throughout the galaxy. These seeds were genetic in form and were planted in races all across the galaxy. These races would not be part of the advanced intel purge. These races had potential, but were on a deadend path of evolution. This supports the caveman vision, Shepard had, and the "Missing Link" in our evolution, that we know of today.

I thought of something else; what if the protoreapers who are more than likely with the new reapers came from another dimension.

I had an interesting theory. We always assumed that the Reapers hibernated beyond the rim of the galactic spheres. But what if the Reapers actually travel the dark space between entire galaxies, always harvesting, and "doing rounds" so to speak? They just cycle between three or four galaxies, with the trips taking 8,000 years on average through the empty expanse of dark space.

The Reapers might not even be from this galaxy then. They might be from another galaxy entirely!

Even if they are from another galaxy, which I hope they are, they can't be from outside the galaxy cluster we're in. That would just be insane. Even the Forerunners, who are the obvious kings of astronomical achievements. wouldn't be able to do that. Even the ancients (stargate) couldn't break the cluster's gravitational pull (Yes, I have seen Universe, and the Destiny didn't leave the cluster).

Granted, these are from completely different plot lines than the Reapers, but still.

The writers aren't stupid, and they know that we're not stupid.....Well, that all you guys aren't stupid, me on the other hand...... Anyway, if they are from another galaxy, it's probably going to be someplace like Pegasus or Andromeda- somewhere realatively close.
