Obviously inspired by IN1's post here, I recently finished my solo archer and put together a completely viable archer capable of dealing over 290k damage.

I dinged level 26 just before The Last Straw, leaving Hybris for last.  The weapon is Hood's Message to the King, a bow from the rogue item pack DLC.  At level 26, the stats are:
145 Fire damage
2 Rune Slots (Devastation Rune)
13% critical chance
33% critical damage
87 damage vs. demons and undead.

The reason I chose Hybris is because I'm pretty sure he's the only enemy in the game that is weak to fire AND demon or undead.

Rest of the equipment focuses on crit damage and fire damage.  I haven't done the math, but I think fire damage is worth more per point than crit damage:
Jasmine Cutty's Wrap
Generic +4% fire damage gloves (instead of Gloves of the Champion)
Robes of the Unblemished Cleanliness
Stealth Boots
Generic +5% fire damage belt (instead of Seven Deadly Cinch)
Dura's Blue Flame
Ring of the Ferryman
Generic +5% fire damage ring (instead of Etched Ring of the Twins)

I was assassin/shadow spec:  All I needed was upgraded Mark of Death, upgraded Assassinate, Devious Harm, Pinpoint Precision, Disorienting Criticals, Blindside, and Chameleon's Breath.  I had Fenris with upgraded Might use Rally, Merrill use Hex of Torment (-25% damage resistance) -> Winter's Grasp (for brittle), Sebastion Righteous Chain -> Wounding arrow (-45% damage resistance), then Chamelon's Breath (to proc Disorienting Criticals), Mark of Death (-50% damage resistance), and Assassinate.

I drank an Elixir of Mighty Offense.  I also had Arcane Poison on my weapon, although that didn't accomplish anything.

For attributes, assuming you have obtained every possible attribute point in the game (including Torpor), you should have 98 points to spend at level 26.  I used enough to wear the Robes of Unblemished Cleanliness, poured enough into Cunning so that I would reach 100 with my gear (the cap), then used the rest on Dex.  I used the following gear to boost my magic and willpower stats so I could wear the Robes using as few points into magic or willpower:

Cap of the Antivan King
Hands of Fate
The Black Fox's Jerkin with Valiance Rune
Stealth Boots
Enchanted Silverite Chain Belt
Urzara's Tooth
Ring of the Ferryman
Ring of No Wishes

My final stats are: 36 dex, 29 mag, 100 cunning, 28 willpower, str and con base.  With Rally and Disorienting Criticals procced, my critical damage was 382%.

The hardest parts were: (a) getting Brittle to proc... It has a low chance, maybe 10-20%.  (B) all the debuffs have a very short duration in Nightmare, so getting all the stars aligned is not as simple as it seems.  © Sometimes brittle procs, all the debuffs are up, and the actual number just WON'T APPEAR.  It's a little frustrating.

I posted in another thread that I was able to make over 700g in a playthrough.  Since I was playing solo, I used the console to swap in companions with RoF and plus coin gear to loot.  All that gear is easily acquired if you try to maximize profits.  Hitting level 26 before the final straw was tougher, I BARELY made it.  Although I didn't use the Lion of Orlais at all, or finished Pick Up Pickaxes, etc.

Very nice!

I can't imagine how long this took, getting Brittle procs on bosses is such a f**king crapshoot, but good work.

edit: Thanks for your pre-built history guide too, I was hoping somebody would do something like that, as I was curious what, exactly, you got out of picking each one.

Arelex, thanks! It really is such a pain. The debuffs stay up for such a ridiculously short time too. I have to time them all so precisely for them to all be active. I'm not even sure they are all up to be honest. Maybe I'll throw on Casual and add Entropic Cloud just to see how big a number I can get.

As for the pre-built history guide, it seriously bugged me that there was almost no info at all on all the decisions you could make and how they would affect the game. So I had to buckle down and make one! Haha

Brittle is my nemesis, I don't think difficulty affects it's ability to proc. It seems to be proc'ing LESS on Normal. However, I was able to keep the debuffs all up on Normal. Still no Entropic Cloud tho. That spell takes FOREVER to cast. I start casting it on Sebastian's 4th arrow so she'll be done around the 10th arrow for Hex.

Yeah, cloud is, by far, one of the worst spells in the game.
