Mirror Casting Animation

Specifically when someone casts they use their right hand to throw the spell, so is there a way to "mirror" the casting animation so they use their left hand?

The reason I'm asking this, is because I find it really stupid and unrealistic that someone throws a firewall with an open hand and the weapon or staff just floats there.

Theoretically it should be possible to extract this specific animation file, open it with a 3D animation program like Blender for example, mirror it, then export it into the files again or override.

Btw does anyone know where the animations or this animation is located?

And could someone more experienced do it for me? Although I'm not totally clueless, it would take me some time to figure it out.

Thanks in advance guys.

We can not import GR2 animation files. If you want to do that, you will have to make the animation from scratch.

I would help you but Im in the middle of a large NWN2 animation project right now.

Thanks Hellfire. Hmm I thought something like that was the issue, because I tried it before and didn't work at all.

Maybe there is a workaround for what I am asking? Like changing 2da files, or something like that, to make the weapon dissappear when casting similarly to NwN1?

I have all the player skeletons in 3DS Max 8 R3 format using C.A.T. Ill link you to them if they are of any help.

Sure I would appreciate that. What about my second question, are you aware of any similar setting?

I don't know. It might be possible through scripting, but that's not something I know about.

To quote the Simpsons:
"Whenever you notice something like that, a wizard did it."

I cannot think of a quick fix for the weapon problem you've listed. My best guess is that it's one of those "hard-coded" things that we must deal with, however problematic that might be.

Also, lol, DannJ I love that line. :P

It's what happens when you play Scratchy's ribs like a xylophone, and get two different notes when you strike the same rib twice. :P
