I just want the colours fixed. I was hoping to be able to pick a bumblebee scheme like the Survivor armour in ME1 for ME2. But alas, the colours on that spectrum (Orange, yellow, brown, tan) look horrible.
Getting access to a color wheel would be AMAZING.

Past that, I do prefer ME2's over 1's. Even if it did seem a little bulky for an Infiltrator or Adept, you still had some say in it.

Sheps new armor should have toggle helmets come standard on even the DLC and promo armors. Squad members should also have the standard toggle helmets so say I want Garrus to keep his on but Shep and Miranda to keep theirs off I can.
Oh YES!!! I loved that in ME1, please let us toggle helmets on, and for crying out loud give our mates some actual head gear and not just these silly breather masks, I don't care if they can generate biotic fields, they are still in space..... Plus using biotics is supposed to drain a person's stamina, isn't it?? Hmm....

I hope that armor will actually do something.
More than anything else... I want it to actually be ablative and protect me, not be a worthless piece of paper.
very well said miss... I like the idea of surviving a few gun bursts without losing my shields and getting to 10% health:pinched:

I do hope there is a little more variety though in styles for combat classes.
My adept I always felt should have a lighter/versatile style of armour.
I hear ya. That was my DLC "dream" for ME2, because I did miss lighter armor so bad, everything felt just so bulky. Don't get me wrong, gotta love the customization - but it was almost like two steps forward and one back. Here's hope this will be adressed in ME3.

You know, I used to *dream* of an Asari Commando Suit DLC armor. That would have been, like, probably the equivalent to a Birkin bag in this game, for me. And ultimately, as a girl, a new purse makes you happy!

Absolutely!
Which reminds me , the main reason I have never bought an armor DLC for my Shep was because I didn't know what it would look like on her (lack of images on site) and if I did it just didn't look very good. :S So what's my motivation to get DLC armor exactly? Hopefully this is addressed too.

i liked sheps armor in ME2, highly customizable and awesome. if they wanna add in more options for that then hey, why not? but i dont want now arbitrary armor restrictions based on class cus that makes no sense.
its not a fantasy game where armor messes up magic (even that doesnt make sense lol)

Heavy armour is heavier. Takes more effort to move, less maneuverability which makes it less practical for classes that involve dexterity and speed (like Vanguard and engineer) over raw power and strength (like soldier).Clonedzero wrote...
well the light, medium, heavy armor restrictions in ME1 kinda made no sense. i mean why cant a vanguard wear heavy armor? why can't an engineer wear medium armor? seems really arbitrary to me.

It's not that they "can't", it's that it is such a bad idea, Alliance regulations don't give you the option.

i HIGHLY doubt the heavy combat armor is significantly harder to move in. and no classes in ME1 really give that "i need to move fast" vibe.
i mean the vanguard? the "point man" doesnt get the heaviest armor? how silly. i get its for gameplay balance purposes but still. it feels SUPER arbitrary

Exactly.. high tech super space suits.. so why is there so much emphasis on bulking up? Surely the majority of the work is done by shields, barriers and the actual technology..

I don't think we have anything specific on that.
I hope we get some lighter/sleeker armor pieces at the least if we don't get the light/medium armors back, though.
This. My femSheps look like football players most of the time and I don't like that. I prefer armor that is less bulky looking.

I would like more options for armor. A lot of the texmod stuff really made me think I want what other characters are able to wear. Honestly when I heard there'd be armor customization in this game I honestly thought I'd be able to wear any piece of armor we had originally in ME and be able to modify how well it protects and such. Recolors don't mean a whole lot to me if that's all customization is.
This would be a dream come true. The ME2 armor system is a great idea but it was so limited it ended up just being frustrating for me, simply because I prefer the less bulky look. And 3 patterns, really? I thought there would be way more pieces as well such as shoulders, legs ect..
TobyHasEyes wrote...
So we can all agree that it would be nice if the ME2-style armour customization in ME3 had some options which changed the 'build' of the armour so that those of us who want the sleek armour can recreate that..
Yes. Essentially that would be perfect. To clarify I'm not asking for a loot system just like ME1 (lolz, no thanks), but more OPTION for armor STYLE keeping in mind those who like the sleek cyber suits. With more varied stat bonuses too for all pieces while they are at it.
Also if squaddie biotics can wear silly bubble masks that don't cover their hair, Celyn Shepars wants that option too! I really didn't like that certain things were only wearable for NPC's or Squadmates and Shepard was left with so little to work with. In my opinion anyway.
Of course my concerns all about aesthetics and not so much about utilitity but in my view whatever gives the player a good time while playing is worth attention. I enjoy having a wide range of armor looks, I like them to be lighter if at all possible, and this isn't about totally going back to ME1 with it's restrictions but bringing back some of it's options. While ME2's armor system COULD give us more option to customize, in ME2 it didn't do that because the selection was so limited.

I highly suspect that heavy armour is harder to move in, considering the game actually nerfs movement speed and accuracy while wearing them.Clonedzero wrote...

And most of the classes do focus on accuracy and speed. The only one who doesn't really is soldier (as their job is to put as many rounds down range as fast as possible). Surprisingly, they are also the only ones to get heavy armour.
You don't get to make up the lore. If Bioware has designed the game so that Heavy armour is heavy, then that's the fact. It's irrelevant if your space-age fantasy armour has different handling characteristics.

The lore is already quite friendly with light armor, have you not seen Miranda/Jack/Samara/Jacob/Kasumi/Morinth???
Hm mmhmm.

You tell me. Is that all you've got to say about it? They have already affirmed you don't need to look like a tank to be baddass by having these characters never 'suit up'. Though giving Miranda the DLC armor was a good step. So either they suit everyone the same or start giving Shepard some more choices, otherwise it's unbalanced and the 'lore' really isn't respected at all.
