No, who are they?

You tell me. Is that all you've got to say about it? They have already affirmed you don't need to look like a tank to be baddass by having these characters never 'suit up'. Though giving Miranda the DLC armor was a good step. So either they suit everyone the same or start giving Shepard some more choices, otherwise it's unbalanced and the 'lore' really isn't respected at all.

I think the idea was that shields were upgraded in responce to the change to thermal clips thus actual armour was more redundant than before. Better shields didn't need as heavy suits etc so people went to war in their pyjamas.

I'd like it if they did suit everyone up. Give similar choices to ME1 without the rediculous number of brands and tiers thing they had going on.

LOL okay the bolded part made me laugh. XD I'm willing to be happy if everyone gets the same treatment in armor style. ME1 was great in the sense that when you were on the ship you have clothes and when you went out you had a suit that wasn't just armor but protection against the elements too. In ME2 they've seriously strained my suspension of disbelief in regards to what people other then Shepard were wearing in combat and out of the ship in general. And since I prefer sleeker armor it added insult to injury.

What bothered about the ME1 system was the sheer number of armor/weapon loot we had to sort through it was really ridiculous. So in that sense ME2's system is a good step in the right direction they just need to expand on it some more.

ME2 was so stupid whenit comes to armor I mean it was so nice to combine the parts but you know a pretty Alliance Marine in a big rough ugly armor isn't really my thing gah!

Just to illustrate I've just reskinned the old N7 light armor that's been modded into the locker:

That's what I'd love in ME3, maybe a little bit bulkier but not by much. I can understand why some may feel it's too light but that's why the different versions in ME1 were great.

Skinny parts please!

Bioware needs to look into this armor design. It looks absolutely incredible.

I want the heavy armor from ME1 back. It really made you look like a heavy duty soldier. The big shoulder pads especially.

I loved it when I had a female soldier and heavy armor on her made her look like a BEAST! it really made me feel like i was a soldier. The armor looked better (graphics wise) in ME2 but it certainly didn't have the same feel

I don't know. Recon hood looked weird with shoulder armor. It deserves light armor.

No specifics on that, yeah. But I think that BW is leaning more towards ME2-style armor customization. Just got that gut feeling.

Awww :crying:

I actually enjoy the idea of l/m/h armor, and I would like to see it return in some form in ME3. It was an interesting system going for the bulkier armor that offered more all around protection at the expense of movement and accuracy; or go with the lighter stuff. Did it need work... yes; but like so many other things you aren't really fixing a system if all you do is remove it and replace it with something completely different. Much like the thermal clips I think ME1 had a system that didn't need to be axed and that a hybrid would be so much more enjoyable.

Yes now that you bring it up I don't really enjoy the new thermal clips in ME2 either, it seems a lot less realistic then heat sinks in ME1. And it's hilarious to head shot someone and you actually see the clip pop out from them as they die...

A hybrid armor system combining ME2's parts with the selection and variety of ME1 would be great!

Do we have any specific information on this? Do we get light/medium armors back?

All I can find right now is a vague ME3 has more customization and there's a return to ME1 RPG elements for some things, do you think that includes armor choices?

Thanks in advance for any juicy tid bits.

EDIT: I'm one of the people who would rather see my Shepard in something lighter then the default ME3 armor and have turned to mods to achieve this. The problem is I lose on the fancy blue lights.

So I'd LOVE to see what some of the NPCs were wearing in ME2 on my Shepard in ME3.

The modding community hasn't found a way to get these wearable as actual armor but only as casual wear, which only makes a lot of us sad pandas. :crying: I am hoping that we get more info on this as E3 or at least soon!! Thanks!

I support this 100%

/brokenrecord on

One of my bigger gripes in ME2 was lack of lighter looking armor varieties. As I've said over and over in other threads similar to this one: default heavy looks fine for more combat oriented classes, but not so much for stealth/tactical ones.

/brokenrecord off

I definately want more lighter-looking armor options. Hell, I'd pay for them.

Just adding my support  to the pile of modded armor pictures:

This is true I'm getting so desperate I'm even prepared to shell out extra for these suits. Though we shouldn't have to.
The mere fact that there are mods out there should be a good indication there's people who would LOVE this. <3

This is better discussed in the Mass Effect 3 General Discussion forum.
