"Tarohne's a looney" Posted Image

No seriously, what drove her mad? I can't seem to find anything on her.

Analyse for me:

I think it's just a case of 'power corrupts'. She probably wasn't a very balanced individual to begin with and having magic made it worse.

A demon did it.

You know where Sarah Connor asks Dr. Silberman if Reese is crazy? He says, "In my professional opinion? He's nuts." That's sort of how I feel when thinking of Tarohne. No long drawn-out analysis works to sum her up. She's just plain out of her dang mind.

Criminally and stupidly underdeveloped. Though if I had to guess, she started out just wanting revenge on the templars for one of many reasons.

I would guess...the oppression that most mages suffer.

I'm getting tired of these "an analysis" threads. Have some original thought!

Most minor bad characters have no reason or backstory. They are just nuts and act as more hawk fodder.

Well she was influenced by the Tevinters and is just the kind of mage that the Templars are talking about when they talk about the danger of mages and especially apostates/unregulated mages. And after you meet about the 20th blood mage or freak mage good old anders still spouts his whine about freeeddddooommmmmmmm!

she's insane. Nothing more needs to be said. She was insane as a baby, crawling around doing all sorts of insane things.

Like making herself look like a clown. A habit she could never break.

I'll probably earn some ire and judgemental looks, but I saw some merit to Tarohne's plan.

It makes sense to turn the templars against themselves, making it so that they don't have the ammunition of arguing that "mages can turn into demons at any moment".

Of course, the way she approached the plan was totally nuts since she targeted the "good" Templars as well. And her final goal of resurrecting the Tevinter Imperium was just undesirable to me.

I don't really see the undesirability as a problem, as it's also utterly impossible.
Also, amusingly, it could very well lead to Anders' mage revolution with far fewer innocent deaths; enough demons popping up here could well lead Meredith to try to Annul the Circle a few years early. Of course, if Elthina gave Meredith sanction for it, it could make the fight rather trickier... hmmm...

@Chris Readman: I agree with you. It could serve the mages well in the Mage-Templar war assuming they only use it on the Templars like Alrik and Karras. The ones who deserve it. It proves that anyone is prey for a demon. Even a cat.

The only problem though are the unwanted civilian casualties that would more than likely follow. so while effective, I would hope they wouldn't use it.

I suspect they would start using it eventually, but only after multiple defeats at the hands of Templars due to refusal to use tactics like this.

Yea I was thinking that too. A last ditch effort. Do or die.
