So if they lied to us right on the box, and in every single piece of marketing material why should we trust that Mike's post is sincere? Maybe he only did this because the marketing department wanted to clamp down on the negativity surrounding the game. If they lied to us before why would they stop now?
They wouldn't. BioWare's marketing is filled to the brim with nothing but confidence-men. DA2 taught me so.
Thank you!

No more ridiculous than Baldur's Gate 2's corpse explosions.
Set. Point. Win.
Didn't know anyone here brought up reality in BG2, but by all means. Also, cutey, if you're going to use mods to prop up your beloved DA2 why then can't you find a mod in oblivion that changes horses to suit your delicate sensibilities? Oh, because you're biased. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.
You were saying?
No more biased than you towards DAII: I did not spent weeks bashing on the Bethseda forums after it was released though.
And there is no such mod. Believe me, I looked.

You'd think they'd learn from their mistakes, wouldn't you. This is precisely why I don't believe Mike Laidlaws "apology" for a second.
So don't & play TW2. Or some other game you enjoy.
I will, don't you worry. If I'm honest, I find it far more entertaining laughing my head off at people like you i.e. naive people.
I fail to see what's there to laugh at. She likes DA2 and you don't. You both have your reasons for doing so.
This whole "discussion" you seem to have going will accomplish what exactly?
Agree to disagree and just move on.

Mr. House speaks the truth yet again. I'm starting to think that Benny should forget about being ruler of New Vegas. You're irreplaceable, sir.

I hope you will get the ressources to achieves what's the team had in mind fr the future of DA.
By the way, can't you think of a way to "randomise" a little the overused area in DA2, it would be nice if it comes some day with a patch.
I'm sure you know that Bioware games are player even after years pass (buldur's gate, never winternight, kotor etc), for time sake it would be awsome.
Can't wait to play in the new area.
Cheers the DA team.

For me, it was a bit more tolerable in Baldur's Gate because of the visuals, it was less in your face. I could ignore it better.Sylvius the Mad wrote...

No. But Patch 1.03 is fixing them. (Mike himself confirmed this in this very thread)
As a console player I was really glad to hear that from him! It won't be removed but it will be reduced which is fine with me!

Kinda OT that. Haven't played it. Let's discuss it via PM. (Don't want to get that warning coming any closer....it's staring at me)

What's funny to me, is now that its time to start pushing DA3, it's the perfect time to say DA2 was "flawed" just like they said about Origins when pushing DA2. Um yes Mike, half the community said DA2 was flawed heavily before you even shipped it.
Like I said in the response to the thread in the general user discussion: the pre-release criticism was that DA2 would be ME2. You know that I was a major backer of the changes to DA2. It's ironic, but I largely got the I thought I was going to get with DA2 in TW2.
DA2 was not a good game, but the pre-release chatter wasn't close to the mark, even at its most negative. Even the most on the mark criticism, that it was being rushed, talked about the content being buggy like DA:A, not outright recycled like DA2.
Semantics. I remember plenty of people saying that losing things like complete party customization, removal of the tactical camera, simpler dialog due to vo etc etc were possibly bad design decisions. Sadly we were right, no matter how much the Mavericks or the Dave Of Canadas say otherwise. The sale numbers back this up as well, as do the reviews, not that I put alot of stock in reviews to begin with but hey.

Same here. I'm not a console player but sister dearest plays everything on the PS3 (Even though she has a much better lappy than I do) and she thought the explosions were cool for 5 minutes.....and then she kinda lost her enthusiasm for making everyone explode.

Never ever play Fable II or Fable III. Peter Molyneux (Is that his name?) outdoes every other company in that department. Fable III being the latest disappointment.

I have been watching my hubby, my son, and my hub's godfather/neighbor play Fallout 3 and New Vegas and I really like how they compare what they have done or not done. I see how each of them has defined their own style and gameplay into them. It does look nice though I really like having romantic interests and it does not have that. But I will admit I have been tempted to play as well, and I most certainly will, but since TW2 came out, it prompted me to get a new PC for it, which I now have! So I will be pretty busy for a while so far.

I don't like the explosions, but I can at least tolerate it now being a random thing due to what we saw being a bug. I'd much rather see loss of limbs.
The only time I can understand a person losing their entire upper body is when a mage uses Stone fist or the upgraded Golem's fist.

And from what I can tell (Devs like Rob, John, David and Mike), the DA team definitely gives a damn.
