The URL is wrong.

According to their forum, the DNS where the NWN server runs, was play.cormanthor.com

2) it still looks offline
3) it resolves a different IP than nwn.cormathor.com

Not exactly. Note that it says in pretty big letters at the forum header that the server has moved to a new address -- nwn.cormanthor.com, with play.*.* being our old one. Thanks for pointing out that thread, Pascal. We've forgotten to edit it.

http://status.cormanthor.com/ and the widget at the OP display the status just fine, now. The server was up and running, but for some reason couldn't be pinged through the widget. Server process was restarted and all is showing up now.

Zombieland is up again!

This old module that dates back to the very early days of NWN was created and mainly developed during the years 2002 to 2005. When CEP got released it was one of the biggest servers out there and even today it's grand size (almost 400 areas) and highly detailed and well designed areas gives players many hours of adventure.

The module features over 1000 scripts, custom forge systems for weapons, armors and alike.

Along with almost 800 custom creatures along with many bosses for all levels between 1-40.

This module currently requires the Community Expansion Pack version 2.3 but will soon be upgraded to 2.4 to add even more content.

If you are a scripter, builder or dedicated host then you are more than welcome to get involved in this massive project that has been going on for over 8 years.

ArgentumRegio is a good place to play - it uses only CEP2.1 (that version or any more recent version works fine there). There are over 1337 Areas to explore (not tiny spaces either) - custom coding of exceptional quality means the system generally suffers no lag, no crash and has no need to regularly reset, unlike many other servers.

There are regularly anywhere from 10 to 20 players online though we have seen higher numbers and have recently seen numbers increasing. The server has just announced the last phase of 'beta test' that being 'roll out' of all completed systems - so a few areas are in flux atm, making switch-over to new systems (such as our new merchant system that even allows for shoplifting and haggling).

We've added over 70 spells most from PNP D&D - and fleshed out all the classes to enable to act more IC-ly, ranger track, monks can jump/fall better, rogues can use windows, and much much more.

If you visit, please do go to the TUTORIAL area (which we call Noob U., *sniffles* my alma mater)... it demonstrates many unique features including fly, swim, climb, jump and more. Ask anyone there if you'd like the guided tour of Noob U. otherwise, it is solo-ready (dying there costs nothing).

THE WORLD OF TALUS

The World of Talus exists as two servers with two very different gaming experiences. Both are in the Roleplay section of GameSpy. Talus 1 is one of the oldest servers around - it is coming up to being 10 years old very soon! Talus 2 is much newer and was created to be an alternative to Talus 1.

Talus 1 has some 800+ areas and 55+ scripted quests. It is a medium magic world that is easy to level in. Talus 1 only uses CEP and only will ever use CEP (CEP 2.4).

Talus 2 is in its starting phase. It is a low magic world that uses additional haks besides CEP (tilesets; Worm's tilesets and a couple of others). Talus 2 will always be as low magic as I can get away with, and is for those of us who are seasoned NWN veterans.

Threatened from many sides by civil war, rebellion and the threats of the isle's restless ancients rising from the untamed wildlands, Andrune--the millenium-old Empire of the Exile--must maintain a delicate peace with the Sidhe and the Tuatha De Danaan, while the free clans of the Firbolg, having thrown off the shackles of their Fomorian masters in a bygone age, would see every last trace of the Andrunese conquerors bloodily scourged from their homeland.

This setting welcomes all manners of characters from the various Forgotten Realms nations and ethnicities (though some races--such as drow elves--are off-limits).  Alternately, players may also create characters native to Aolyth; these include:

• The Andrunese (citizens of the Empire formed by Faerunian outcasts 1,000 years ago, whose conquest of Aolyth has long been hotly contested).
• The Tuatha (wood elves native to Aolyth and among the first of Aolyth's peoples; once allied with the Firbolg against the Fomorians, the treachery of the Firbolg King Eochaid has left a lasting unrest between the two peoples).
• The Firbolg (tall, fair-skinned humans native to Aolyth and among the first of Aolyth's peoples; divided into conquered Firbolg (descended from Firbolg clans conquered by Andrune and forming much of Andrune's commoner class) and free Firbolg (the unconquered Firbolg tribes who rule Aolyth's untamed Highlands and frequently make war with Andrune).  Scottish accents are optional but encouraged.  ;D ).

Andrune is a Persistent World, where player-characters have changed the face of Aolyth with their ambitions, their initiatives and their participation in the land's many plots and relations.  Language widgets are in use, and alternate deities from the Tuathan and Firbolg pantheons are available.  Characters must have a DM's approval before ascending to the Epic Levels (Level 21-30), and PvP must be justified by plot or in-character reason and overseen by a DM as well.  The DM team is active, and DM events are frequent, so we invite you to join and partake.  Weekly and biweekly DM events are coming soon.
