If I have a party member whose role is redundant, but they have some useful skills (like crafting), is it possible to leave them somewhere and come back to have them rejoin when I want to craft something?
Do dropped NPCs stay where you dropped them or do they go off somewhere else like the NPCs did in BG? I was thinking of dropping a certain fighter with good crafting skills near to a crafting bench so I could return there when I needed his abilities.
Also, do NPCs stay at the same level they were when you dropped them or do they continue to level parallel to the PC regardless?
Do they retain any equipment/crafting supplies when they rejoin the party?

They all end up in the sunken flagon if you boot them from the party.
They will level up with you and they will have the same items that you left them with.
