I dunno, she's been in both games, and her character does seem interesting. She hinted at some interest in Shepard in ME2. Do you think there is that possibility? Would you want it?

I hope not. Shiala's voice actor is beyond terrible. Just like Wasea's, Benezia's, Liara's... I don't know what it is with asari voices that's so difficult. Then there is Aria, who sounds convincing but has some really bad lines.

The only one done right is Samara. Well, and Morinth.

I thought Shiala's VA was pretty good. It's part of her charm, actually.

Benezia's was terrible, though. Liara's is inconsistent.

Morinth's was more or less. Great in the LM, but very cheesy on the Normandy.

I must disagree about Liara. I tink her voice actor is wonderful, altough I must admit im a bit biased because I fell in love with the character(and voice).

Shiala need not be a full blown LI, but yeah, I would definitely welcome some kind of fleshed-out interaction or story with Shiala. I really like her from ME1. :-)

However I am curious, why do people want to romance shiala. Is it because she expressed interest? Because I can't even begin to think of her character. She has no substance, no story, and while i'm sure Bioware can come up with something I just don't see the draw.

Doubtful. She's a pretty minor character in the grand scheme of things and so far you've only been able to romance squadmates.

I like Shiala because she was beautiful in the first ME. I also like her voice and how she sounds so earnest when she speaks, and I think her politeness is endearing.

And she can really fill out that commando catsuit.

She's an Asari?

Seriously, of all the minor NPC romance requests, Shiala sounds like the least creepy or ridiculous choice.
In part because, yes, she expressed interest. And her interest doesn't even come out of the blue. Shepard saved her life. Thena gain, we'd have yet another Asari who's into Shepard...
Her character has no substance at all, correct. Yet I found myself liking her quite a bit despite that. I appreciate politeness.
I don't see how a romance would make any sense, either, but if BW wanted to make a recurring character a squadmate for whatever reason, I'd want it to be Shiala.
Plus, she's the most beautiful Asari in my (female, heterosexual) eyes ^^

I'm going to say no as she will likely be a plot point. However, maybe in that she may have to romance Shepard to mainpulate him/her.

This. I doubt NPCs like Gianna or Shiala will be any more than flings - similar to the Consort.

I like Shiala. Wouldn't mind as long as the "bigger fishes" are out of the frying pan. She is my favorite Asari though and I still think she should have been the "Liara" in ME1. But I don't work for Bioware. If Cheez was still around she'd hate this thread lol.

Also to debunk the "no substance" argument.... She has the damn Prothean Cipher in her head. That in itself (among other things) is enough to make her a significant character, but whatever.

Aria T'Loak was voiced by Carrie-Anne Moss, so yeah, she sounded pretty convincing. The actors can only work with what they are given.

Regarding Shiala, she looked way hotter in ME1. And I'm not getting with anyone who may be infected with trace amounts of parasitic Thorian spores. If she puts the commando leathers back on and gets back to that sexy shade of purple/blue, we can talk.
