Yeah, so pointless to try and appeal to a wider audience like any company would if they had the choice.<_<

Using voice recognition is a pretty cool idea for combat, but for dialogue?
It would work better if Shepard wasn't voiced. Imagine playing a FemShep as a male and talking as "her". Pretty weird.
Thumbs up for the demo content though!
Voice-selection of Dialogue + male gamers playing female Shepard + Love scenes = major lulz

Press button or scream at game. Hm, difficult choice.
To get the authentic experience without shelling out extra cash I'm going to just stand in my living room with the controler, jump up and down through the intro and yell frequently until I realise what a massive wanker I'm being then sit down and enjoy a wonderful game without being too much of an idiot.

Also, Shep's voice acting sounds really good.

You just broke the universe. I hope you're happy.Bad King wrote...
Why not yell at the game while manually choosing the dialogue option at the same time- that would save you having to buy a kinect device, and it wouldn't be any different!

the voice acting wasn't good. that clearly wasn't beattie as mordin, and the krogan princess' voice was abysmal, but it's clearly a placeholder.
my problem was with the few seconds of gameplay that i saw. the switching cover looks nice, but Shepard seems to take up a very large portion of the screen. I think bioware could stand to increase the field of view a little bit. the AI didn't look to smart, but maybe that was just an uncommonly stupid cerberus operative.

Kinect I could go either way on, but the graphics look amazing... and it's nice to see that Mordin will have a prominent role, too. Of course, I'm betting that the voices for Mordin and Wrex were placeholder.
The kinect commands, though... they'd better let us toggle the dialogue commands off. It looks neat, but I would rather watch a cutscene uninterrupted than have to read the lines aloud. The combat commands look interesting, though.

Critically, not as acclaimed. Commercially? In short, yes.
