Anders only makes the first move if you play diplomatic Hawke, I've only ever played sarcastic or aggressive so he's never bothered (although I played lady Hawke). Besides rivalry isn't necessarily bad, sometimes its annoying to get friend points if you're want rivalry points. So Anders hits on SOME Hawkes and IF you want friendship with him you'll be stuck with a few rivalry points. Why does it matter? You can easily make it up later by saying how fab mages are.

I really don't understand why people care. Does it really matter if a character flirts with your Shep/Hawke and your not interested? Doesn't that happen in real life? If you're gay it happens a lot more because people automatically assume your straight.

Really? He seemed to make the first move for my sarcastic Lady Hawke.

I honestly don't understand the issue. Is it really so alien a concept for a person to not like rejection? Bear in mind that the amount of points lost does *nothing*. It's not like Anders suddenly despises you and wants to murder you. He is simply hurt, and an in game mechanic demonstrates this. How on earth doesn't this make sense?

I thought it was a kind of annoying, but not a big deal. It felt like a big hit to my friendship points at the time but we got along well enough that I made them up eventually.

I was more bothered by how awkwardly forward he was. In fact I actually felt worse when my Lady Hawke didn't instantly shoot him down, he seems to instantaneously go "BUT NO! Woe is me! We can never be together." It seemed a little strange to get that angsty for someone he just met.

so since you're best friends with them, if they play mass effect you wouldn't want it in the game with means you wouldn't want them to have romances unless they roleplay a stright Shepard. Some friend.

The sarcastic dialogue choices towards him in that particular conversation are what avoid the "first move" making. My female mage Hawke had a diplomatic personality, but I chose the sarcastic dialogue choices to avoid the flirting. It works.

I think when your creating you character there should be a sexual orientation choice(straight,bi,gay) problem solved?

They say that's "offensive."

It's not offensive. It's stupid.

They seem to be getting a ton of attention. I remember in DA2, One of the convo's you can have with Anders, you either tell him you are not interested (lose party influence or whatever it was). OR tell him you love him.

So wait? I can't tell him i'm not interested in him and not lose influence? WTF?

Are they gonna do this with ME3? When you are a male, and you find out that most of the male party members are attracted to you? That just a big turn off......

(I'm not homophobic, I know gay people that I was best friends with since college)

also...

Stop looking at my profile... you know who you are.

I agree with you. I don't want to mess up my bromance with Garrus because he hits on me and I tell him i like him or i don't, resulting in an Anders situation. Whatever you do Bioware, don't touch Garrus! Leave him the way he is!

I really don't care about Renegade or Rivalry. I just don't want everyone to go bi.I'm fine with gay relationships if it's in character. EG Garrus, Miranda, Ashley and Jacob are straight. But Kaiden, Thane, Tali, Jack I could see being bi.

I have an easy solution for you OP...buy Gears of War 3 instead. I won't play any of the s/s romances but I'm glad that Bioware is including the option for the bisexual/gay/lesbian/transgender members of the community. Especially for the gay members who only now get the option of having a m/m romance. That said...please no more retcon. Let the new characters be the s/s romances. Every character being bi is overkill.

Your choices for people's sexuality seem pretty random,  and Jack doesn't like girls (It sucks).  She's the only character that rather openly states her sexuality.

How hard is it to just wait until there's more information out? Or, you know, we could just argue in circles and insult each other. I know which one I'm going to choose to do.

I'd say no fshep/Jacob type of forced hitting dialogue for s/s and also all prior ME - ME2 squadmates stay as they were portrayed in 2 ie straight and BW can make new ME3 squadmembers who are bi. I really get annoyed when everyone screams Tali or anyone from the prior cast should be bi social cues and the end result = they're straight. Even Jack tried it and hated it. No one should turn Bi in ME3 from the prior crew cast just like Samara and Mordin shouldn't suddenly start wanting shep in ME3.
