Return to Ostagar DLC not displaying in Available Content

Not showing up in Game (steam) under available content.
The whole system is pretty buggy, I wish Bioware would use Steam exclusively for the PC game, EA's implementation is simply archaic in comparison.

I would never buy another game from them ever again if they used Steam. Steam is horrible.
I bought one game - Empire Total War. And i bought it in a store and it FORCED me to use Steam. And Steam forces you to be online.
Steams "offline" mode is a joke, it still requires online validation once a week or so.
Its a useless program that sits in the background stealing computer reasources needlessly.
I hope they NEVER use Steam exclusively.
And yeh. Return to Ostagar has only been -announced- not released, so yeh it wont appear as "available content" just yet.

Never had any issues with Steam, it just works for me.
Steamworks, Self updating, cheap games, 3rd party games can be a bit of hit and miss but Valve content shows you how to do digital content this day and age.

*Begin Rant* Its more that games supplied on or through Steam require you to have running - whenever you are playing the games - this invasive and intrustive program that doesnt really do anything except annoy you.
Self updating you say? So is Impulse but it doesnt invade your computer and demand you use it at all times.
Paradox Interactive games and indeed most modern games come with "Find Update" functions in their launchers, or launchers that automatically check the interwebz for updates.
My experience is with Empire Total War (which I have since traded in cos its a pants game) and to play the game AT ALL it demanded I have Steam running. Which uses resources. Its not a problem for me because I have a fairly high end computer with a decent amount of RAM and space for more, but it might be a problem for someone with a slightly lower end computer that might struggle because Steam is running in the background in addition to all the tertiary windows programs.
I resent this pointless waste of computer resources.
And why does it do this? because Steam check every time you play the game that its genuine.
Why do that? Whats the point? Surely one check per install is enough? Or once check in a blue moon? not every time you play.
I thought when I bought ETW that it would use Steam to validate the game, and check for updates and what not (at my say so!) so I was fine to buy it and install it along with Steam.
But then I realised what it was doing. And annoyingly it wasnt even worth it because of how pants ETW is.
Cheap Games? I find cheaper from Impulse/GamersGate, and Gog.com. If you cant get a particular game from these places then amazon is always good for cheap as well. None of these places force you to install an invasive irritating resource hogging program onto your computer. Seriously Steam uses up a good whack of RAM and CPU power just on its own.
It much rather put up with crap half assed support from EA than deal with Steam. Seriously At least EA is honest about what they are doing. They want your money. Thats it.
Steam pretends to be nice and helpful and secretly invades your computer. Its dressed up spyware. Only D2D seems to be worse with their ridiculous DRM. *Rant Over*
Back onto topic. Why did you get excited about this DLC? I mean yeh sure it seems like it might be a cool little DLC but it doesnt seem to be providing anything that modders cant at least not from what ive read so far.

And who knows how far they will take it. Modders would be completely unable to do something on the level of Shale, that integrates into the main quest so completely.

Just look at the modding community for Oblivion. There are loads of AMAZING mods that far outshine the DLCs Bethesda released.
From the refurbing mods that expand the DLCs like Frostcrag Tower, and the Horse Armour; to totally new quest mods like Tears of a Fiend, and An Arane Cey: Lost Sword of the Ayleids; to new seemless companion mods like Ruined Tail, and Saerileth/Viconia/Stoker Wolff.
Yes the modding community will take a while to really get going but I guarantee with this game it will start churning out some fantastic mods that are better than the official DLCs within 6 months.
And I dont agree that "official" DLCs will automatically be better than fan made content. Keeping with the Bethesda example look at the Horse Armour plugin for Oblivion and Operation Anchorage/Point look out DLCs for Fallout 3. All utter crap wastes of money.

So you end up trawling through what's on offer basically at random, and the sad truth is that while I absolutely 100% agree there's some good user-generated content out there, there's a LOT of crap too. (Mostly levels and creatures in the shape of a penis and stuff like that, judging by Little Big Planet, Spore etc.)
With developer-released DLC, you can have certain expectations of quality... which, true, aren't always reached... but if you play the odds...

Um. Point Lookout was freaking AWESOME.
I'll agree with you on the Horse Armor and Operation Anchorage though. Oblivion's mod community is pretty awesome. I haven't found a single Fallout 3 fan mod that I've liked or kept, though.

i think we got ourselfs a hater, all the things the mention is your personal opinion and your personal opinion is rather dull, come with some facts, tell us what you dislike about everything.
and about steam, it doesn't really use alot of resources for a modern pc, unless you are still using win 95 with a intel p 3, then yeah it would be a very useless program that runs in the background but so is vista/windows 7 so i can asume you are linux user then ? seriously mate stop hating and start loving.
and about the DLC, don't trash talk DLC for Fallout3 they where all good and proper, you get new weapons and a nice armour wich they made from scratch, barely any bugs with them and you complain about them
Ontopic :
when will it be released ? i thought it would be released yesterday, unfortunally it hasnt =[
i can't wait to add another bit of story to the game, i don't even care if it is short like soldiers piek, it is always nice to have something new in the game

This.
DoW II uses Steam AND GfWL... Pain.. in... the... ass. (But super fun game I hate so admit.)
They should just sell a pack of DLC in stores so we don't have to download it /be logged in to use. It's really stupid that the DLC is tied to the profile and not the CD key on top of that. I should be able to back it up to a DVD to install and work instantly.

i totally agree about the money part ,but i guess you never played battlefield 2142 EA did implement spyware in that game for those dam ingame billboard ads and i doubt they just stopped
doing it. one of the biggest assets these days to any corporation is there mailing lists/customer info.sometimes fought over more heatedly during a breakup than their own stock is.
