PS: Also I am not surprised if RtO is going to be another overpriced, very short, "OMG COOL ITEMS" DLC. Since BioWare announced DA: A, there isn't a point to make a massive DLC or any more DLC's for the moment. Everyone would go and be amazed over the xpack.

Uh, the quote for a "speed run" by the dev was an hour, not 15 min - he estimated for normal folks listening to dialogue to get 3-4 hours out of it - which is about equivalent to Ostagar in the main story conveniently.
Nope, he said loud and clear that by doing the speedrun he can finish it in 15 minutes, the regular players will need around an hour to finish RTO

Regardless, it's only 5 dollars, and we're going to be getting at -least- an hour out of it.

Until they fix the broken search function - you'll just have to trust me that "her" memory on the ratio of speedrun vs. normal run is accurate, but she's got the 1 hour on the wrong one.
I think it's quite likely she's misremembering (or trolling - misremembering for devil's advocate is less potentially offensive though), but I never bookmarked it and without a bookmark or a working search function it's an excercise in futility to attempt to find it for a link.

From Rob Bartel
Average playtime is always tough to pin down because everyone's mileage will vary (and developers player the game in a very different manner than a typical first-time player). I can do a speed run (skipping through conversations and cutscenes, using a buff party, controlling Dog, avoiding some combats, ignoring loot drops, not looking at the scenery, etc) in about 15-20 minutes. I suspect it would take a typical first-time player about an hour to complete.

Even an hour's worth of playtime is, in my opinion, worth the measly 5 dollars that they're going to be charging for it. Don't forget, there's always some replayability in there and I would love to grab a set of the King's Armor (an official version, at least).

As I said, this DLC will be probably shorter than Warden's Keep making u feel that there is content missing in it. Warden's Keep was surprisingly short, I was expecting a huge castle with many mysteries to be found and not 2-3 mini bosses and some demons/undeads running loose in something like 4 chambers?

As you can see Livanniah I wasn't trolling.... not in my interest to troll this forums.

Odd. Knew the ratio, but swore it was more "Shale length" from what I recalled - but that is definitely the quote I remember, minus my memory of the specific numbers being off clearly.
My bad, and thanks for showing the third party site's Dev search function, don't go to many third party sites, so I had not been aware that one tossed together a dev search function.
Still though, anything additional for $5 is good by me. Longer the better, of course - but $5 is so piddly as long as it's not Oblivion's "Horse Armor" I'll likely get it.
Now on the other hand, Awakenings 15 hr quote I would hope is a low-ball estimate (like the 15-20 min speed run quote for RTO) since at the 1:4 ratio - 60 hrs would be tolerable, on the other hand if it's a casual estimate: 3-4 hrs would be terrible value for speed run folks - even 15 hrs seems low for $40, frankly.
$5-10 DLC's really don't need much "meat" to validate themselves, but it's a different ball of wax when you're talking about $40.

One hour worth $5??!!! In that case, I assume that you wouldn't mind paying $300 to $500 for the regular Dragon Age: Origins game! About the same cost per hour of game play.
When the expansion comes out, I'll sell you a copy for $200:blink:

IGN: Origins has been supported by a large amount of DLC from launch. The most recent of which, Return to Ostagar, has been delayed until the end of January at the earliest. Is there any explanation as to why the delay occurred? Is it solely to release the DLC for all three platforms at the same time, or was there another issue?
Fernando Melo:No, it has nothing to do with platforms themselves. It's a quality issue where, literally, at the last minute, we spotted something that had made it through our own testing, EA's testing and was at Microsoft already. But it applies to all three platforms; it wasn't something specific to Microsoft, we just happened to catch it there first. We probably could have gone with it, but it's something that was serious enough that we felt it impacted the quality [of the DLC] and we made the choice to delay it to give our fans the best experience with it. That was the reason behind [the delay] -- we want to make sure that we don't cut any corners when we do the DLC. There's already a lot of content out, there's a lot more coming -- we just announced the expansion pack, and there's more coming after that. I think the worst thing we could do after that is do anything "to poison the well," to use the expression, or put fans off from feeling that they're getting the best content from us. It's a long term decision instead of a short term decision.
So, there you have it, that's why they delayed.

Thanks for the info. Well, we have to calm down... and for sure, it's better to wait for something correct then get a buggy one - after all we will pay for it. We allready made very much noise for this delay, imagine the trolling if the DLC would be buggy
The only thing I still can't understand : why they dont tell that on the official site ???
I like when things are clear and I think most of the community too.

I spent $60 cooking a nice dinner for Rob and myself tonight (well not literally spent - bought the groceries and wine a few days ago) - that meal lasted us a total of 30 minutes, about 30 min of related conversation, and 30 min of diversion.
I don't think either one of us is about to complain about the $40/hr cost of our "Night Out, In" though.
$5/hr cost is marginally more expensive than seeing a 2 hr movie solo (without a drink or popcorn at that!), frankly - but yet many, many people will see movies in the theatre rather than waiting for them to get to DVD, because the cost difference is insubstantial to many people.
Heck, even in our days when Rob and I were eating Ramen (

So basically there was a problem with the 360 copy and now I have to wait cause of the 360 people can spend the money for a good system.
Thank you Microsoft and your junky system.
I really hate waiting.
