I think he may not be telling the truth. Or he's counting non-finished playthroughs.

Yes.  I have.  Just looking at my own DA:O profile, I seem to have 21 recorded  characters  for Origins  (and I don't recall not finishing  a game after creating a character) though I suspect its more than that.  And I'm very *very* sure that I've got double or triple that for BG2, which I played on a regular basis for... oh...  9 YEARS.

1. I either have an eidetic memory or I'm some form of a savant. I can recall when I started each playthrough, what class, and what companions I've used. Sadly, I can remember a lot of trivial information.
2. Outside of the occasional concert, con, or trip to the local Jazz club, I try not to have a great social life.
3. Most people who love those games have played them far more than I can hope to. Except for the Icewind Dales. I just love those games.

I'm not. I've scrapped several hundred charactrers in several games because of one misused skill point, or I feel like I mucked up something with a character's appearance.

That's impressive. I replay the same games a lot myself (DA2 = 8 times) but after about the fifth time I tend to forget how many times I've been through. That's interesting that you can remember all the details of every game. :)

I'm really intrigued that you can play a game so many times... So do you still watch all of the cutscenes and talk to all of the characters in camp while you do this? Or are you more focused on the gameplay such as building the perfect strategy, etc?

Also, why would you not simply reload if you misused a skill point?

BG1: 2
BG2: too many to keep track
NWN: 1
KOTOR: 2
ME1: 2
ME2: 1
JE: playing that game is physically painful for me, so .3, maybe.
DAO: 4
DA2: .7 made it to the end of chapter 2 and basically said "F this tripe" I did watch my girl play through the majority of Act 3 though, so I'll count it as finishing it once.

With most Bioware games, I usually average between 1-3 full playthroughs for each game (I often create a bunch of characters, but never finish them), with Mass Effect 2 being the Bioware game that I replayed the most.

With that said, I can't fathom how someone can play a single RPG over ten times. There are so many games out there; it seems like you would be missing out on other games by spending so much time on a few, particular games, but I guess some people just have very selective tastes. For example, I want to play DA 2 again, but I still have to beat Yakuza 4, as well as LA Noire (which I haven't even opened yet).

I'm surprised at the people that like Bioware games still hating on DA2 so much. It for sure has flaws but probably has 3 of the best companions ever in BioWare games. The companions alone are worth multiple play throughs. (Opinion of course)

Baldur's Gate I: Got about halfway
Baldur's Gate II: About halfway
Neverwinter Nights I: 1/3 of the way
Jade Empire: 1
KotoR I: 2
Mass Effect I: 2
Mass Effect II: 1
DA:O: 2 (Switched systems)
DA2: 1

Also there are the games developed by Black Isle and Obsidian:
Icewind Dale: Just played for a little bit
Icewind Dale 2: Just played a bit
Planescape Torment: About halfway
Neverwinter Nights 2: Just a bit
KotoR 2: 2

I rarely ever replay video games. Hell, I don't even finish most games unless I really enjoy them. I do create a number of characters for each game though. They all just tend to die off near the beginning.
