Greetings all,

I am working on a new Troubleshooting/Solutions FAQ for Origins, Awakening, and Ultimate Edition.  I need a little help, since I have the game on disc/EADM and not Steam.

For Steam users... where does Steam install the main game program files?  Is it in the normal Program Files > Dragon Age folder, or someplace else?

Same question for the character data... the usual My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > Characters?  Or someplace else.

Thanks!

p.s.  For those who have asked, it may be a little while before the new FAQ is completed and up and running... once I complete a draft, the devs have kindly agreed to look it over and make their official suggestions.  So once it's done, it should be pretty helpful, especially for newer users.  And of course, I am collecting a lot of the wisdom already expressed by many on this forum... so thanks to all for that!

Data is in the usual place: My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > Characters

Main game program files are in the same place you installed Steam itself.

The path is as follows: Steam > SteamApps > common > Dragon Age Origins

Just as Master Shiori said.

I hope this troubleshooting/faq handles the loss of DLC. I bought and installed Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition through Steam, and my DLC doesn't work despite me redeeming the code. When I reinstalled I seemed to lose authorization for all the DLC, and now I can't install any of them.

Most likely the background updater service is not running.  The are plenty of links in the Solutions Roundup to help you.  It's pinned towards the top of the forum and linked below.
