While we're at it, I'd like the option to beat Fenris to a bloody pulp and not lose any approval points from him. Thank you.

This again? Both sides need to grow the f**k up. What is this, kindergarten? The devs said they aren't "gaying" up existing characters. Continuity (in this case) is the only thing that matters as far as I'm concerned. If you're homophobic or uncomfortable experiencing the content don't initiate it in dialogue. People are acting like Bioware is making you sit and play the game at some creepy pedophile's house by including same sex romance. Grow up, get tolerant and move on with your life. There's plenty of more important topics to talk about besides who Shepard is sharing a bed with.

$0.02 reasonable rant/

@FrozenFire42 - this is fun

I wouldn't care if romance was taken out completely.  I don't understand how romance that's such a small piece of ME gets so much attention and so many topics.

Obviously people like the romances, and if they'll never go down that route because they know how angry their fans will get. They would probably lose sells, as well.

What's the big deal, anyway? I find people's lack of tolerance a little disturbing.

This is not about tolerance. I have nothing against homesexual people but I don't want content like this in game. Bioware should focus on more important matters (IMHO all romance stuff is a waste of money, but nvm). Plus, DA2 "all LI are bi" failure isn't helping.

But then they loose approval. GOD FORBID you loose a little affection for someone who turns you down, the horror.

yeah, i never understood how that was a big deal. its pretty realistic to me.

i know im alittle off-put when my advances are turned down. most people are, if you're into someone and you flirt with them only to be shut down, even politely and gently you're still gonna be disappointed and stuff. thus less approval.

and when my advances are happily recieved and returned then im happy. thus more approval.

i dont see how sexual preference has anything to do with that simple fact.

It's funny because women turn down advances and they have like 50% chance of being called a b!tch, or a wh*re or frigid or something else. Give or take.

Ohhhh f*cking facepalm.

Haven't we had enough of this? Just... give it a rest. If you don't want to follow the homosexual route, don't.

It's just a bloody game.

well thats because its a cultural thing where its the guys job to hit on the girl and its and oddity for it to happen the other way around.

so understandably guys get frustrated.

personally ive run into the situation where apparently a girl was super into me but never said anything because she was waiting for me to hit on her, then she gets in a relationship with a random person and tells me about it and im all ike "wtf why didnt you say anything" but i guess it was my job eh?

cultural stuff is weird man.

That's because we have to tell ourselves the grapes are sour. That's all. It's nothing personal ladies. It take more courage than you think for the average dude to initiate a conversation with a girl. Women always have their guard up. And unless a guy is doing well finacially or looks like an underwear model, confidence isn't a commodity. It's even worse when feelings are involoved. I know from experience, my wife hated me during and after highschool.

Have I mentioned how much I ****ing hate when people are comparing ME3 with DA2?

Because they're not developed by the same BioWare team, they don't have the same development cycle. They don't even have the same settings, FFS.

It's because of threads like this that I believe games should have no romances, just should people will stop b*tching about this. Oh well inb4lock.

See this is why I'm confused by relationships.

I don't really feel like the "girly" girl if that makes sense so I'm a little unsure if I should be doing the asking out and flirting with. Relationships are confusing...

And when people are saying that it's a waste of time and money to ave romances, I can just say that BioWare have several character writers, and a separate team of writers working with the story. Those guys probably wouldn't have much to work with if there were no romances in ME3.

liara and femshep is ok because its lesbian and lesbians are totally cool right?

Finally! Someone who gets it.

Femshep renegades being blindsided into sex with Shai'ira is OK. As long as there are no situations where maleshep is forced into sex with another man everything should be fine.

I feel for the OP, I didn't like Zevran or Anders hitting on me, and I'm actually a guy who likes guys. I think Bioware will just make the romances player initiated while the companion sets the tone. No on likes ninjamances, no one.

I just hope and pray now that Bioware will allow you to have actual friendships with your partners, and not the whole "you bone them or don't" thing.

Well - I wasn't intending this to get out of hand, which it obviously has... I thought my initial post was quite clear.

S/S romances aren't the problem - I'm not saying that "Bioware needs to take them out of game or I won't play" sort of thing... It's an RPG - play it the way you want to, I just don't want it forced. I apologize, I feel like an ass, I had no idea this thread would turn into this... But at the same time, this does remind me of why I don't follow forums anymore...

Also - can someone tell me how to change my account from using stupid ass words like pH0r00m h0m3 to just "Forum Home"?

It's not your fault at all. There are just a lot of unneeded emotion in this topic.

Well, here's hoping this fixes the ME issue in which your Shep can't be nice to a squaddie without being hit on.

Actually, despite my facetiousness, I do agree with this. Zev and Anders were both kind of sleazy creepers initially. I mean, we met an hour ago and you already want to jump in the sack? How about a drink first?

I see once again this little Molotov cocktail of a topic has popped up.

Folks, listen-- until there is more information from the developers about exactly what is going to happen with ME3, this subject is the forum equivelant of plutonium. People have demonstrated time and again, with a few laudable exceptions, that they're incapable of keeping this subject restricted to the game itself. As a fellow moderator stated in the official sticky on this topic a few days back, we're done discussing this until more info is released.

Thus, for now, locked.
