Some kind soul wrote a mod to fix the blood sacrifice (or whatever blood mage spell it is that lets you suck health out of an ally) spell to allow it to work on charmed mobs.  This mod is in the form of a dazip file. The instructions on that project ("Custom stuff" on the da end users mod list) are vague--to me at least.

Can anyone please tell me or point me to mod installing instructions.

Go into the folder your game is installed.

There should be a subfolder called "bin_ship"

inside is the DAUpdater.exe file

Run that and drag+drop the dazip file, or open then by browsing

Select it in the list, click "install"

I did find how to do this, but the mod appears broken and the daupdater reports that it "Couldn't load manifest file (could be bad dazip archive)". However, others appear to have installed this mod and so I wonder if I have another problem. My base DA install + all DLC works perfectly.

There are 3 files there. The one in question is spell_drainlife.dazip
