I'd like to replace the spear animations with the halberd animations. Does anyone know where I can find them to do that? I can't find the combat animations anywhere, and I'm concerned they may all be packed together as a single file somewhere.

animations are gr2 files stored at the data/lod-merged.zip. dunno which animation is the right one but you should notice after reading the names. to change them you have to rename the animations of each race to be fired correctly as this is hardcoded. the engine chooses the appropriate animation through naming convention.

Ah, that is a problem. I can't figure out which animations go to which weapon, they're not very well named.
Thank you though, I'm sure I can figure out the rest on my own.

Ah, awesome. Thank you. It's wierd though, I could have sworn spears and halberds animated differently, but the files say I'm wrong. I'll have to look at that again.

I was looking at this last night. It seems that baseitems.2da should play a role, but I can't quite figure out how.
According to the wiki page, the WeaponWield column values should map onto certain animations. I'm not 100% sure I believe this, since quite a few weapons don't show any value in that column at all, and I can't figure out if those values are keyed to another 2da.
There's also the 3 columns that govern the chances of playing one of 3 animations: %AnimSlashL, %AnimSlashR, and %AnimSlashS: that's Left, Right, and Straight slashes respectively, expressed as percentage chances. Weapons that are always swung, such as Warhammers, have 0 %AnimSlashS, while those that are primarily thrust, like spears, tend to be 35%-35%-65% (I know that's more than 100%).
If you use the animation viewer in the TS, you can sort of see what's going on. However, it really seems to me that the codes for which animation to use should be defined by 2da (just like appearances.2da defines skeleton types). As I said, I haven't found those defintions yet.

That was exactly what I needed MasterChanger, thanks.
Does anyone know if Weapon Finesse would actually work with the spear if I changed it to a Small weapon size?
I'm not sure if the code for that feat actually looks for the size of the equipped weapon, or if they might have half-assed it and just made a hard list of all the weapons that are originally light (since it also includes rapiers).

I tested it, and changing a weapon to small does not allow it to work with Weapon Finesse. According to this page, that issue is actually unique to Weapon Finesse, and the issue seems to be just what I thought; they were lazy and made a hard list of weapons that work with it rather than actually having it check the equipped weapon's size like similar feats.
