BW is notorious for putting really obscure Sci-Fi references in ME. Finding them is quite challenging sometimes, makes you wonder what the team reads in their spare time....
LOL. I guess they have a diverse group of people, and with everyone's collective odd reading experiences, it makes for an interesting background. fascinating though!

Like the Normandy! I totally saw that ship in the original Mass Effect
goofiness aside
Jacob's Dad's ship is called the SSV Hugo Gernsback
The Sci-Fi Hugo Award is in honor of this man: Hugo Gernsback
thats prolly an obvious one

The space hamster you get for your cabin is supposed to be Boo from Baldur's Gate. His owner, Minsc, suffered a head wound and afterward was convinced his pet hamster Boo was a "Miniture Giant Space Hamster" the hamster in Mass Effect has a description that says "Space Hamster"
Also when Tali summons her combat drone she says "Nothing's faster than Chatika Fast Paws!"
Aerie in Baldur's Gate worships the Gnome God Berevarn Wild Wanderer, who has a demigod pet named Chatika Fast Paws. Sometimes when you tell her to move somewhere she says "Faster than Chitika Fast Paws!"
Tali also tells her combat drone to "Go for the Optics!" another Baldur's Gate referance to Boo. One of Minsc's battlecries is "Go for the eyes Boo! GO FOR THE EYES! RAAAAAAAAH!!!"

Okay, since no one has answered yet, I will give you the answer: The SR designation is Stealth Reconnaissance, modeled after the US army and navy's vehicles. this may oe may not be officially confirmed, but a masseffect wiki contributor named stormwaltz (a former bioware writer) stated this in an entry. http://masseffect.wi...lk:SSV_Normandy

4. Thane is a romance option for a Fem Shep. What is his nickname for her?
Hint: it is the name for the warrior angels of the Goddess Arashu (like Valkyries of Norse mythology).

My main Renegade is a Male Earthborn Ruthless. Hes also completely crooked and a bit of a psycho. Before he was a Spectre is have a backstory of him taking bribes and going out of his way to kill as much stuff as possible even when he's not required too. In the game I always have him support crime and corruption (Helps the Salarian cheat at Flux, takes the bribe from exo-gene scientists to lets them go, helps Opold Smuggle) He romances Ashley, then pisses off Jack by sleeping with her before getting to know her. Then hemoves on the Miranda for the true romance in ME2
My one Female Shep (Renegade\\Colonist\\Ruthless) is basicly a hard ass military ****. Shes completely by the book and tends to be ruthless to lawbreakers. She always calls the crew out if they start losing disipline (She tells Joker and Kaidan to stop gossiping about Nielus, she makes Gabby and the Scottish Engineer salute her and wont allow them to gamble, she also dosen't get mad at Anderson when he dosen't tell her the real reason they went to Eden Prime) Shes dates no one in ME1 shes not bi and Kaidan would be fraternization. In ME2 she dates Jacob.

The standard credit was established by the Citadel's Unified Banking Act, a piece of legislation enacted by the Citadel Council establishing the credit as the standard galactic trade currency. The legislation was drafted by the volus, due to their expertise in financial and commercial matters. The Act also laid out regulatory guidelines for determining the value and exchange rate of the credit in relation to the currencies of the individual Citadel member races.

This next one is going to be tough.
7. The ME music is just as important to the game as the characters. The music of the ME universe sets the mood for each stage, and makes the action that much more real and memorable. From the forlorn and heartbreaking tune of "Vigil" to the wild, pulsating beats of Afterlife. Speaking of which, Afterlife has 3 levels; VIP, Upper and Lower. Sadly, the tracks for the upper and lower levels didn't make it onto the soundtrack, but that doesn't mean you can't still find them.
a. What is the name of the original track used for the lower level of Afterlife?
b. Who composed it and why did he never receive credit?
Happy hunting!
