U just have a feeling that something massive in the form of a twist is coming our way as we learn more about the Reapers.

i do at one point

my main theory (Possible Spoiler but i dont think so) is: The Illusive Man might be a reaper, some how those eyes dont look right and i think he might be the one controlling them all

but all i know is, as long as M. Knight Shamalamallama better not be involved or else ill rage quit

Yes, but please please please don't let it be that there are some epic creators of the reapers who the reapers have to serve or something like that because in my opinion that would be lame. Just let us defeat em and ill be fine. NO CREATORS who the reapers rebelled against as well.
In fact, just no creators full stop.

Female Shephard is Preggers and she doesnt know who the father is, gotta go through all of ME 1 2 and 3 Flashbacks to find out who it is! lol jk jk

Then she discovers the father is Kyle Reese, a guy from the future. Apparantly the reapers win but her son is destined to stop them. In ME4 her son sends back a Geth to protect his child self from another Geth who can turn into liquid metal. Then ME5 just royally bombs because the guy who played the Geth in the 4th one is too old and now they have an even more advanced Geth he has to fight who has boobs.

If your playing a male Shepard he finds out that the Reapers took over centuries ago. A man named Morphian and a girl named Trillity take him to the real world where he discovers hes just been hooked into a computer his whole life. Then he goes back into the program and wrecks the reapers by flying around and doing really really fast Kung Fu.

 I have my own theory that is so crazy but I don't really feel like mentioning it. I don't think many people think about it but if it turns out true maybe I'll bump this thread (or make a new one pointing out this post) and say I was right.

I doubt they would do it though cause my idea has some minor plotholes but still...

for those that didn't read the last ME comic ( it's not worth it but anyway) ..the Ilusive Man has those eyes 'cause he indirectly touched a Reaper relic trying to save his friend back in the first contact war ..that' why he's half husk

i didnt read the comic but thats one persons perspective, maybe its true maybe its not, i still think that either the illusive man is the only human reaper or the eyes are just eyes of the reaper, a advanced form of indoctonation

ever notice in the renegade ending his eyes don't glow anymore? Maybe it was a bug but everytime i play they still glow in the paragon ending but bnot in the renegade ending

all i know is that the star changed colors behind him, when i destroyed the collectors hive, if my theory is correct about him working with the reapers or a reaper, then he would use it against humanity

If there's going to be a huge-ass twist, it might as well go all the way and be a huge-ass what-the-hell JRPG-style twist.

For example:

Millions of years from now, humanity has evolved to a point of deity-like wisdom. But for some metaphysical, inexplicable reason, they decide that such wisdom cannot be allowed to exist. They know too much. Therefore, they create an enormous race of machines and artificial intelligence, and trigger some kind of bomb which implodes the galaxy at its center.

As everything in the galaxy is crushed to a singularity, humanity is obliterated, however the black hole at the middle creates some sort of uber-Mass Effect field which sends the machine race (reapers) back through time millions of years, with the task of never permitting any sapient race to progress too far along the path of horrible, horrible wisdom!

And, of course, it's just part of the inevitable time-cycle that humanity survives the reaper attack to proceed into the future to create the reapers and implode the galaxy... WOooooOOoooOooooo!

etc etc.
