Was it in the Game Informer magazine? I read that but couldn't find anything...

However, Kaidan has the Spectre logo on his armor in the official shots and the concept art that's been passed around.

I believe PSM(?) said so, although it was in debate since the article was... of questionable quality.

I just noticed that a few seconds ago...cool.
I wonder if more info will be released at E3?

I don't mind them becoming a Spectre, but lets be honest the only reason they became a Spectre was to monitor what Shepard was doing with Cerberus, well that's what I believe anyway. Plus how did Ashley become a Spectre? She's a xenophobe, kind of.

Spectres have no public-relations requirement.

So she's like nearly every human on this planet except she's more honest. And probably like nearly every alien too. Don't really see why they should stop her from being spectre.

The dog in the metaphor is humanity. The human is the Council.Any_ILL wrote...
Well I suppose if you want to kill them all (whoever "them" might be) you'll probably won't being accepted but Ashley is far from being that intolerant. The dog/bear example (I hope it was in the english version too) proves aliens matters less for her than humans. She's not only cautious, she considers them less important because she's human.
So she's like nearly every human on this planet except she's more honest. And probably like nearly every alien too. Don't really see why they should stop her from being spectre.
She's not saying that aliens matter less than humans, she's saying the reverse: that humans matter less than the Council to the Council races.
Ashley's metaphor isn't linking the Aliens to dogs: that's the exact opposite correlation.

You could argue that for her alien =/= dog in a counscious level and that's the difference with the council, but in reality there is no difference because that's true for the council too, they doesn't really see us as expendable non conscious species, but as less important than their own. So either the metaphor is simply wrong for ashley and the council, or it's valid for both.
edit: forget it, I'm not able to express myself good enough in english to really express the reasonning.

The metaphor was only used one way, and can only be assumed one way. Ashley makes no position that Humans would be the same, or different, in regards to the other races. The only viewpoint the metaphor illuminates is Ashley's view on how the Council views us. It does not apply to any other circumstance by default, and applying it so is deliberately removing it from the context it was employed. Metaphors are always context dependent, and do not need to work both ways.

As someone who played ME2 before ME1 I didn't get the best introduction to Ashley but after playing ME1 my opinion didn't change she was a simplistic xenophobic character that I never liked. If she tries to tell Shepard what to do even my 99% Paragon Shepard with punch her in the face.

Oh she gets better if you don't ****** her off in some way. While she seems xenophobic, with a little push from Shepard, she eventually lightens up towards aliens.
In all fairness the Virmire Survivor is the only logical choice out of Shepard's old crew to become a Spectre.
Lets examine the others shall we?
Liara- Could have possibly become a Spectre but is currently the Shadow Broker and has effectivlely fallen off the grid.
Garrus- Possibly the best choice as a Spectre canidate, but fell off the grid when he left to vigilante in Omega. Now is a known conspirator with Cerberus.
Tali- Quarians aren't a Citadel race so she wouldn't be recognized as a Spectre canidate.
Wrex- Same as Tali, except for the fact he is a Krogan. Also as the current leader of Tuchanka he is a little busy with his own games to play.
So the Virmire survivor is a logical choice. Both are trained Alliance officers (like Shepard), they're combat capable(like Shepard), and one of them has reasonably strong Biotic capabilities while the other is a tough as nails soldier(like possibly Shepard).
I'd make them a Spectre if I was the council.

Also, Spectre logo? What Spectre logo?
I was wondering about that too. I figured they were talking about this picture since it's the only kaidan picture I've seen although... there's no spectre logo anywhere.

Yeah, that's the picture I was thinking of, too. No logo, there. Also, the only place I've ever heard of a Spectre logo is on the forums. Never heard of it in-game, and certainly never saw it in-game.

I... see it... sort of. I think it's there but it's hard enough to see that I wonder if I'm letting my thoughts influence what I'm seeing. Seems like an odd spot for it. Ah well, I'm sure we'll get a better view of it at E3.FireEye wrote...
It's on his chest, under that conveniently placed reflection of light. It's visible, it's just very hard to see unless you know where to look.

I think it's cool however that BioWare doesn't comment on this, they could have acknowledged or dismissed this rumour long ago.
