All though I don't like this particular plot development Kaiden at the very least would make an adequate Spectre.

Ashley on the other hand, while I do respect her skill as a soldier I do feel that her outlook on life is far too narrow to be anything other than an Alliance soldier. She sees the world in black and white, good and evil, she lacks the perspective needed to make complex deceisions, she is not qualified to take on alot of the missions that Spectres are required to handle. She is not Spectre material period, of course there is nothing stopping Bioware making her a Spectre but in my opionion she would not make a very convincing one. Besides Ash has already stated that she is an Alliance Soldier for life, with her the Allianc ewill always come before everything else in her life.

If she does that I'll dump her ass on the nearest planet.

And that's why you're a sociopath.

Since you bumped this thread anyways, we already have confirmation on Kaidan being a SpecTRe. Now for Ash:

S**t, I just saw the Spectre emblum on Ashley's hand. This game isn't even out yet and I'm already having major issues with it. and for those of you that say ME1 happened 2 years ago, Ashley could have matured/imporved  alot
since then, Only a couple of months have passed since Horizon and the start  of ME3, trust me she hasn't grown that much since we last saw her. She got fricking paralysed by Giant bugs and watched ( because they are still concious despite being paralysed ) Giant Insect like aliens drag away Human settlers, stuff them in pods and transfer them to a big spaceship and she still has the balls to say that Cerebus is behind the Human abductions even though she saw and knows otherwise.

Besides, she firmly states that she an Alliance Soldier for life during Horizon and Anderson says on the Citadel that Ash is still with the Alliance, when excatly does this Spectre thing happen, shes either with the Alliance or she working for the Council, which is it.

Uh, no.

Spectres are not required to be Council loyalists. They can very well consider their loyalty to their species. Shepard had plenty of opportunities to reaffirm this poisition in ME1: Shepard might work for the Council, but that doesn't preclude their loyalty and also working for the Alliance. The exact same can apply to the Virmire Survivor.

Ashley wasn't paralyzed by the Seekers because she was a wimp and Shepard wasn't. Shepard would have been paralyzed as well without the countermeasure as well.

At a minimum, a year has passed between the Suicide Mission and the Reaper's Invasion.

You've completly missed my point. I wasn't complaiing about the fact that Ashley got paralysed by the Seeker Swarms, as you pointed out that would have happened to Shepardas well  if he did not have Mordin's counter measure to rely on.

My point was that Ashley saw first hand that Giant Bug like Creatures  ( the Collecttors ) were responsible for abducting humans from human colonies and yet she still goes on a big tirade about how Cerebus could still be behind all  the abductions. It's a simple question of her observation capabilities ( or lack of ) as well how in-flexible her mind is.

She doesn't say Cerberus was responsible, she does what 95% of the people on this forum do and come up with some crappy reasoning on the fly to win an argument. I doubt she honestly believed that, especially since Shepard was now working with them

The only thing I don't like about this is that it basically makes your decision on Virmire nothing more than a popularity contest, since they both end up becoming the same thing. I thought they were planning to have actual consequences for our actions in ME3? Because I had thought-out reasons for choosing Kaidan over Ashley, and I really think this is one of those decisions that should have its own pros/cons.

Kaidan/Ashley became the NPC equivalent of femshep/sheploo as evidenced by their Horizon appearence. Sadly, they're not the only ones affected by this issue as Wrex/Wreav and Samara/Morinth are hampered by this "tied to the hip of another character" problem that hampers their character development.

Nihilus got himself shot in the back. Just saying. Not a very smart thing for a Spectre to do.
