Actually I liked those moments and would like to see more of them. They brought a lot more feeling and personal touch to those scenes than a generic "thank you so much for everything you've done for me/us" line.

I was shocked when both girls took such liberties with mshep but it makes sense and some people in life are like that. I once worked a retail job where one of my customers literally took me by my arm and lead me around looking for her daughter. I was surprised at the contact but for her sake I didn't pull away either I just dealt with the awkwardness and decided to let that go in the light of more pressing situation, though it turned out the woman was delusional and the young girl she thought she was looking for was actually an adult but it does happen people will do things. She didn't mean any harm by it and I don't think Shaila or Parasini thought harm either.

I though on Parasini's end it was quite natural considering our last meeting I would like some more of this perhapses even a back off scene with Mshep say a stripper starts trying to or does feel him up and you get the interrupt button like fshep did where he removes her hand(s) and says how offensive she is being in thinking he likes that. I think that would be a memorable scene just like those two moments where. The only thing I would like to add to that moment to make it all the more perfect was your LI if they're in party to be like back off my man!

Because of those two scenes I'm interested to see if each girl will be a fling option for 3 sense to mean it seems that neither of them want anything more.

EDIT: Hey guys don't forget Tali's need to feel your skin scene! Now there was personal! I had the unfortunate moment of coming across this scene while the crew was still on deck and I'm like, " Tali! Wait Ken, Gabby!" Who were right there! It would've been perfect to add to my state if one of them said anything about us! So if BW does this type of scene again and crewmembers are present don't forget to have them react!

There was unprovoked kissing and touching? I don't remember that in game. (Unless its jacob, in which case I never talk to him so I am ignorant there.)

Shiala and Parsini for a male Shepard.

Not to mention the Consort in ME1. <_<

:(...Gianna's kiss is one of my favorite parts of the game...I love that it throws Shep a little off balance, he is always in charge, on top of everything...I feel Gianna's moment and a few moments with Kasumi makes Shep feel more real to me, he's just that little bit more human, he can be put on his back foot.

I think that gender difference should actually have more importance in the game,so that female and male Shep playthroughs are more unique.
Outside romances, there is no big difference between those two, only in the places mentioned in the article. I myself prefer to play with male Shepard, and I want a good reason to start another playthrough, with female character.

Not only that,I also think that there should be missions easier to complete with certain gender, kinda like in Fallout.

No please,  I don't want anymore "Ladies in the military,  LOLWUT." moments.

I didn't mind Gianna's kiss, mostly because Shep is devoid of expression when it happens. The game doesn't force Shepard to react positively or flirty or such.

Shiala, on the other hand, is a different story.

Eh.
I have no issue with them touching/kissing Shepard. I would just like to have a choice in reaction. As it is I just get one forced interaction that is bleh.

I didn't mind Kasumi because she has mastered the concept of personal space.

Someone hitting on my Shepard or touching him isn't the issue.

My Shepard having one reaction (positive or negative) that is OOC is the issue.

I think it comes down to a very fine line. If you overdose the game with gender specific moments the game becomes less of a story and escape for the player, and more of a dose of real-life politics and gender discontinuity.

It's unrealistic to have a game completely gender-blind. You'll eventually come across a character or ten that have very vocal opinions on the subject or treat genders very differently. A few moments here or there can add a sense of realism.

But one has to remember that, yes, as players we don't always want to be reminded of the things many go through every single day and others only hear about.

I wouldn't object to some additional gender specific dialogue. I'd ask only that it be done carefully and sparingly.

ALL I ask for Femshep is this: Have her sit down like a woman. That's the one thing that drives me insane about the gender neutrality, a man sits like that; casually legs apart leaning over with hands together. A woman would more likely sit up straighter legs together. Example: how Liara sits in ME1 in the meeting scenes.

OR at least have a special animation when she is wearing a dress.... I can seriously deal with gender neutrality for dialogue but the animations are the worst offenders. What happened to Femsheps fluid walk from ME1?

And I'd rather romance dialogues be worked on then overall gender identification in the game, things that for sure are treated different as fem/man Shep need to be smoothed out before putting things like 'sir or 'mam' in different situations , in my opinion. No more Jacob **** talk thanks. ;)

^ Depends on the situation (yes, that pic of her on a pretty dress). I don't think this looks bad at all.

Yep, okay, I can see your point now Ryzaki...the lack of reaction choice is an annoyance to me also in many instances and admittedly I felt a little uncomfortable watching the consort slide up to the femShep I am currently readying for hubby...A lot of it I would say comes down to our personal individual perceptions of our own Sheps and our own real worlds....Aside from the 'putting Shep on his back foot' situation I love so much, the very reason I would like to see either Kasumi or Gianna become possible LI's in ME3...I also imagine him as a bit of a player, an honest one, but still a bit of a player, so those incidences suit MY view of MY Shep quite well...but I can very well understand our perceptions of our Sheps are as individual as ourselves and what would make some fidgit and uncomfortable would work well for others....More reaction choices in game would certainly be very nice, I for one would gleefully take full advantage of extended choices, so often with the choices I am given, all are way off of my personal vision and I have to resort to what is the least removed from how I envision my Shep reacting or saying.

The animations in ME1 are fine because they are actually neutral, but it seemed in ME2 they tried to emphasize Shepard's badasseness and the problem with that is they are based on male body language. I'm pretty convinced anyway, in ME2 Femshep gave me the vibe of a strong woman in charge, in ME2 she comes off as having no sense of feminity which I never got from ME1.

As for Shepard being touched by others. I don't actually mind that Shep stays neutral then, though the choice of a reaction would be nice, I find it's okay for Shep to not say anything too and let the player decide what he/she thought of it. Per the article they do say Shepard keeps a game face on missions, that probably applies to these type of situations too. (cue Lady Gaga's Poker Face song..)

Shepard is charismatic enough to attract all kinds of people male or female too.

Shepard in ME2 gave me the impression that she was running around like a hunchback person rather than as a man. I mean leaning forward and her head turned to the side, like she had torticollis or something. I like ME1 movements better, too, including the video I linked.

ManShep comes off the same way...his run is shocking in ME2...ME1 had much better movements, I am hoping BW brings that back.

Both Shepards run like Gorillas in NFL gear. It looks especially awkward in the Normandy when Shep has no combat gear whatsoever.

They got real lazy with the movement animations in this game.

Agreed. Male Shepard walking/running animations are terribad as well.

And by god the neck twist. Just...why BioWare? Why? =]

Pretty much. I just want a choice in how to react is all.

That reminds me of Femshep's crazy long neck!! I actually make her chin longer just to try to minimize the giraffe effect... :/

I didn't mind the FemShep gestures/movements being "manly", (My shep is pretty much a complete tomboy, still.) but this...This is something else. She does that more than once, too. -_- Lol, I dunno why I continue letting her wear that dress...It doesn't actually really suit her...Hmm.

I want it immersive. If I pick male shepard, it's because I'm in the mood to roleplay as a man. If I pick female shepard, it's because I feel like roleplaying as a woman. It's an RPG shooter after all. What wrong with being admired for being a "great man" or a "legendary woman"?

So patsquinade did a follow up post.

I agree on points 1 and 2, not so much about 3 and 4. 3 is only a matter of personal taste, I prefer subtleness and silence and capturing Shepard's inner thgouths through screenshots. Dramatic "WHY??WHYYYY??!!!" moments are not my cup of tea. 4, dealing with a jerk is fun the first time because it's just an anecdote, not a trend. I think it's understandable that I wouldn't enjoy NPCs giving me sh*t constantly. I want to play the game, you know. Stop the reapers, recruit people, think about the genophage, the quarians... not about which one will demean Shepard next.

Frankly, I wish this weren't even talked about. Femshep is a fantastic character as she is now, so, just as anything that is highly optimized, changes are more likely to do harm than good. Bioware's got a good thing going on here. PLEASE don't turn Shepard into June Cleaver.

I think he misunderstood us. As I tweeted to him: "We don't want softer lines for FemShep, we just want to see her as something other than a killbot. Emotion, for both Sheps."
That is what we really need. And apparently, we will get it, but only between missions: http://pats-quinade....com/229174.html
I like the way ME1/2 handles those particular gendered-identity situations, though minimal, I see it as how it's just meant to be.
