ReconTeam takes the opposing side in a conversation? Shocker.

I believe this is what the youngsters refer to as "calling dibs".

Because God forbid anybody disagree with you. Judging from the conversation at the start of ME1, without Admiral Hackett's approval Shepard wouldn't have even been assinged to the Normandy.

Well, some people (okay, you) seem to make a career out of disagreeing with me. It's almost Pavlovian.

And so Hackett put in a good word for Shepard a billion years ago. What has he done for her lately?

Hackett has Zaeed's face, that's more than enough to win over my femshep.

Hackett's a good man, much better than that sissy Anderson.

I like Hackett myself, he is one of the few hierachy that my Shep truly respects...Anderson is okay, but he is no Hackett.

I understand the purpose of Arrival.  Admiral Hackett sold me on wanting to punch him in the face.  I just hope Bioware gives of a choice for how we arrive at the hearing, should that happen.  Some of us may get more fulfillment from getting dragged in rather than going willingly.

Oh, and by the way, I find it very childish when people are demanding the liberty to do whatever they want, and then start whining when any kind of consequence catches up to them.

I find it childesh when people complain about said people.  People are well within their rights to voice their opinions in this forum, regardless of whether or not it's whining.  If you don't like it: ignore them.

The majority of people that can't simply accept the way BioWare is handling their game.

And is this in reference to my original post, or one or more of the responses?

yeah this confused me as well. Especially since you don't actually make any choices wrt Hackett in Mass Effect, so what consequences are there to complain about?

Oh, it's nothing against Lance Henrikson, he's a fine voice actor. It's just that the Arrival mission is really unsatisfying. Talk about "railroad plot". Not even an illusion of choice. So far only two of my Shepards have completed the mission, and my other four probably won't bother (since it will be assumed to have occurred before ME3 anyway).

If Renegades get to punch out Hackett, then I submit Paragons should then get to t-bag TIM.

Paragons generally disagree with the Illusive Man's philosophy. Shepard performing sex acts upon the Illusive Man seems rather out of keeping with that discordant relationship. If anything, it should be Renegades who get cozy with the Illusive Scrotum.

Hey,  some of us Renegades hate Cerberus too.  We just want to live life as an 80's action hero.

No Paragons get to charm TIM into opening a puppy shelter and using is vast riches to put under privledged youths through college in order to build a better tomorrow full of sunshine and rainbows.

That's what Paragons get, the satisfaction of breaking a human soul with nothing more than charisma and good cheer.

Damn, you want to punch Admiral Hackett! Don't you know what happened to Price and Soap when they tried to beat him up?

Soap ended up getting shot and stabbed. Price got his ass kicked and almos... oops, wrong game.

Damn, giving TIM the Helena Blake treatment, that's flat out cruel and inhumane. :o

OP Only when you produce photographic evidence that you have done a double Anderson on Udina, stuffed the turian councillor's nostrils with airquotes and tossed TIM out of the nearest airlock will you be allowed to punch Admiral Hackett - once for each stupid mission he sent you on.

Don't see much difference between TIM and Hackett in Arrival. Just like TIM, Hackett set me up and made me sacrifice alien lives. I don't care about batarians who naturally hate humans but nevertheless...

Problem with that...there was no choice in Arrival, Shepard went on autopilot for most of it.

No choices at all.

Arrival was meant to bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3 and thereby set the stage. What choice could they realistically let you make? They could have probably thrown a few pointless, small cameo in ME3, decisions at you...but that wasn't the point of the DLC.

As for Hackett...he's an aged admiral in the alliance. He knows how to play the game and protect himself while still getting the job done. He's like a cross between the political knowledge of Udina and the military expertise of Anderson. Aka awesome.

One of the things that annoys me about Hacket is that he acts surprised the relay was destroyed. If Kenson was on an Alliance mission I find it hard to believe that the project moved along as far as it did without Hackett knowing about it. He had to know that destroying the relay was one of the plans on the table

Yes. I like Hackett. He probably was totally surprised when he discovered that Shepard has done all that. I understand his rage and even with that he's really polite. There were no other options, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be consequences.
