Thanks for the advice, yeah I was wondering why everyone had that D under their name. First time using this site, so sorry if I seem a little rusty.SusanStoHelit wrote...

Is there another way to have your profile update?
I heard that if someone clicks on your profile, then that would maybe get it started or something.
As Snoteye said, you need someone else to view your profile. In fact, for regular updates someone else needs to view it regularly. If you can, have a friend login and view it. If none of your friends are willing, or able, to do so then you need to either join group or make friends here on the social site and have them do so. The final option is to come to the site without logging in (so the site doesn't know it's you) and view it incognito, as it were.
But first, you should perhaps register your game.
I do own the game (360 version) but never thought about registering it before.

I don't suppose you can think of anything that may have changed in the meantime, like a new router?KerriMaryBerry wrote...
I have about 4 characters I'm playing and the only one that uploaded is the one I deleted. None of my new characters have uploaded. How do I fix this?
I actaully have been switching routers. The one I'm using right now is the one I will be using for awhile.

In that case, try opening ports 18081, 80, and 443.KerriMaryBerry wrote...

I also get frequent time-out messages. But when I look I still get the indication that I am logged on.
When going to the player profile diagnostic I get this error message:
Unable to connect to the on-line storage server.
BTW: that's a message I get also while playing ...

It shows all the correct equipment and stats, but it doesn't show my character wearing it.

I also get Error Codes:
1005 - Extra unexpected files uploaded for this character.
1003 - No portrait image uploaded from the game to the on-line storage server.
Hope we will get working fix soon.

I'm really thankful you're helping me. But how excatly do I do that?

Well just to give a bit of an update on my situation my profile finally updated, but the image itself didn't. Why is that?

The xbox and ps3 versions of DA sometimes just don't upload new images - it's a bug in those versions that has been reported many times but hasn't been patched yet.

I'm afraid I can only be of little help there. If you can find your router, or a similar model (from the same manufacturer), on this site, follow that guide. If you want to try your luck, or can't find the model, you'll need to do is type in the IP address of the router (default 192.168.0.1) in your browser and look for a page with incomplete IPs, lots of text fields, and something called UDP and TCP. If you're asked to login, and you most likely will be, first try to enter with default values. If that doesn't work, try admin/admin.KerriMaryBerry wrote...

There could be a number of reasons for it.
Firstly, profile updates are prioritised. Those people whose profiles are viewed by people other than themselves are put at the top of the list. If your profile is not viewed by other people you will constantly be bumped down to the bottom of the list. And your profile will only update if or when all the 'popular' people have already been updated. So if you want your profile to update regularly, you must have someone other than yourself view your profile regularly. This means asking friends to log in - regularly - and view your profile. Or doing it yourself incognito, by viewing it while not logged in.
Secondly, if you have 100 files on the site, your profile will not update. If you have 100 files - delete some.
Thirdly, you must be logged in - and connected to the server. If you get the message to say you're not connected to the server (the timed out message), exit the game and restart it. Continue doing so until you are connected to the server. I generally find it helps to wait at the main menu for a minute or two before trying to load a game, thus giving the game to to connect. This does not completely eliminate the problem, but it made it far less frequent for me.
Fourth, there are other reasons why it might not update. Some of these are technical: ports and so on. Some are platform based: 360 only uploads images on character creation, for example. And if images don't upload then, they never will. I'm not addressing every known cause - I don't know enough about all of them, sorry.
Error codes:
First, if you have characters that you've deleted from the site, but they still appear on the profile diagnostics page, with files attached to them follow this link and follow the directions - they work:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/6/index/583965
Second, if you have characters who have the 1005 error (extra unexpected files), delete the character using 'manage characters' from the site. Play with that character ingame and make a new hard save in a new slot (not a quicksave and not over an old save). Wait for that character to upload again. Check the profile diagnistics page. The number of files may (if you're lucky) now be correct. If not do it again: delete, play, save, wait for upload, check diagnostics. Continue doing this until the number of files is correct: 4.
If you have posted a problem without searching or reading the rest of the thread:
Go to Jail, do not get $200, do not pass Go. We post solutions to problems regularly, and people keep asking the same questions - so they clearly didn't read the rest of the thread. Often you can find the answer, just by going back and reading the whole of the stickied thread and seeing if someone else had the same problem - and got an answer.
I'm sorry if you're busy and don't want to or 'cannot' take the time. We're busy too and help out of the kindness of our hearts. But it can be wearing to repeat the same thing 50 times in the same thread.
Another helpful thread to read (not just post in but actually read) is:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/6/index/415775
/rant - but I think it needed to be said.
Good luck to you all.

Ok I am getting really confused. I created a PSN account via my PS3 shortly after christmas. I have been using it to download my Assassin's Creed 2 and Dragon Age material, which is working wonders. I try to use those details to login to http://uk.playstation.com (it tries to make me use the Swedish site, but that's beside the point) and it tells me that my details are incorrect. Is it logging into PSN online (not on the PS3) that will allow me to take care of Player Data or is it logging into the forums (where I have different email and pass)?Snoteye wrote...
@Wournos: I guess that mostly applies to PC users, at least in its literal wording. And the other way around would be more accurate anyway. You can login on this site using either a username or an e-mail address. The FAQ is referring to the e-mail address, which is also the one you use in the game. For the consoles, too, but in a roundabout way. Whichever way you registered, if you're able to login in game you have a working EA account (and by your post it is not the EA account linked to your BioWare account). You can try contacting EA support about moving your PSN to the EA account identified by the e-mail address you signed up with here.
If I already have created a PSN account through the PS3, do I need to do it online too?
[God, I have become my mother. Completely clueless!]
Addition:
I have now been checking my information on the PS3, tried logging into PSN online (which I think wasn't the way to go) and checked the FAQ of this forum. I cannot recall creating an EA account when using the game for the first time. If I did I'd have the info written down somewhere and I don't. But if I didn't and created an EA account online, how would that upload my status from the PS3?

I found my details. They were hiding in one of my email accounts. I have no idea why I didn't make a note of it because I always do. So yes, I have an account with different email than what I use for this forum. I could technically use it on this forum to upload all my game details but they wouldn't end up on this current account - which is what I want. I have tried to change the email on my EA account to sort of "merge" the two but I get a message telling me the (forum) email is already in use (duh!). So I'm not sure what to do. Either have two accounts where one is without my beloved username, posts etc, or one account without the details and my own character avatar.Snoteye wrote...
If you have ever logged in in DA, you will have an EA account, because that's the only possible way. Not owning a console myself that is also about as much as I can help you with that. I don't know if you can play on a console without logging in at all (you can on the PC), in which case you most likely wouldn't have an EA account.

You can try speaking to EA support about moving your Gamertag. I don't know if that's possible.Wournos wrote...

Any idea how I can get the pictures to upload?
Edit: Well I deleted everything a 2nd time and now my entire profile is blank, so does that mean that I'm good to go giving the uploading profile another shot?

I see only Dragon Age: Origins on "My Games" list although beyond that link it says I've registered ME2 PC too and can only remove it.
Edit: Apparently I see ME2 icon under my profile avatar too, just not on the lists out there.

With the help of EA Support I now have an account that shows my game stats. Strangely enough, as soon as I found out they had helped me with my issue I went into the game and saved all three of my characters. My profile was updated a little after 2pm (CET). My first character had all files uploaded, my second (a clone of the first) was, and still is, lacking the avatar and portrait images (the avatar shown is from the first character), and my third character hasn't showed up at all.
I deleted the first character in case having two with the same name caused issues, but the profile hasn't been updated yet.
Guess patience is in order.
