Darkspawn, we ask you to change to your old look. You are too cuddly now.

I got to say I like the old hurlocks more because it looked like something that would kill, R*pe, and eat you in that order. the new ones look like something out of a dysney movie. the emissaries look like twisted elves witch fit because of their stronger magic connection. the new genlocks looks absolutely wicked and look like monster dwarves. I love the shields. and shrieks I haven't seen yet but hope they keep them close to the original.
I might be wrong but I'm sure I've seen that they're bringing in new Hurlock Alpha's. Hoping that they don't resemble their other DA2 brethren.
or at least hide their face witha bad **** helmet.

Well, I, uh... I agree with the Ethereal Writer Redux. I personally preferred the old darkspawn - they looked Tainted, for lack of better word, while the new ones look more undead than anything.
I half-agree with that^. I liked the old Hurlock better as the look as described there^. While the new Genlocks could be a more devastating force to be reckoned with. Which fits, seeing as how they're corrupted dwarves. Dwarves are frontline fighters and love to jump straigth into the fray.

Hurlock Alpha. Better than the Chalkspawn that's for sure.
Edit: Dammit Filament you ninja'd me!

Is it just me, or does it kind of resemble an Arcane Horror? Just some similarity between the two. Still better than the Clownspawn, that's for damn sure.

Mmmm, I like it. We can't see much of it, but only with this looks much better than the "hurlocks". I get, by the way, that this is the redesign for alphas and vanguards from Origins.
Another hope! -> Let's hope that they move by soft, natural movements, and not power-rangers-spams

Why not both? Could be a helmet covered in dried up blood. If only the regular Hurlocks actually looked as fearsome as this.

It is both. You can see the metal and the blood.

Ugh it looks like an eyeless pile of junk. *facepalm* Again, pass. Instead of looking orginal like the DAO ones, now it looks like something from game about Demons. Geeze, just go back to the orginal already and spare us the remakes into Gothic Demons from Hell and Gorilla LoTR trolls.

It looks like blood due to its skin being flayed from its face. Again Demon rather than tainted and twisted human.

Yes, an helmet that covers the whole upper face, very tiny slits so it can see (but not very well!) and well, we need to show the nasty pointy teeth, which are surprisingly white.

Apparently the Architect, erm the Conductor, oh frak, whomever made sure they have a really good dental plan. And then they all trapsed off to LoTR and took a tour of Gothic Horror Games and decided to get plastic surgery.
They keep reinventing the wheel, and it just keeps getting worse and less orginal. And less eww, your tainted. Now I just look at them and think they belong in a different game genre.

Ery that's a bit unfair don't you think? Hurlock Alphas in Origins were just better armored Hurlocks. Nothing original. I mean you have to admit, these guys are hundreds of times better than the Chalkspawn. I hate the new Ogre design and the Hurlock grunt redesign, but I love the Hurlock Alpha and the Genlock designs. It's again subjective.
The Hurlock Alphas looked like this:

Also, they're wearing a full helm, so we didn't know what they actually looked like underneath. Maybe they had the face of the new design under that helm.
EDIT: Yup I too thought it was slightly Mouth of Sauron-ish when I first saw it.

Yes better than Skeletor, big whoopty doo. Still Gothic Demon from a horror game or movie.
