the new elf design actually keeps in line with the shriek design. And also, the people who say the elves look like Na'vi because of their ears need to look at where the shrieks ears are. That's more Na'vi than the elves, who aren't Na'vi-esque in my opinion.

and these are unmodded elves.

Seeing all of these Elvhen images makes me think that they are about ready for take-off.

*starts listening to Pink Floyd's Learning To Fly*

I don't agree with all of Eth's pics as pretty elves. Mr. Houses mod pics, yes. And I liked Merrill and Fenris. They were just different enough but not so space alien or guppy.

And I no MULE ears!!! I hated that in WoW, the long stupid donkey ears.

I think all of these elves were incredibly well designed, but to other people they may come off as average at worst.

I think Athenril is probably one of the most beautiful elves I've ever seen.

I couldn't find a better image of Paivel though, sad to say.

I also don't get the mule comment, as a mule's ears are at least 2.5 times bigger than the elves'. If the problem is them pointing to the side, that shouldn't be a problem I think

God I love you modders, hope bioware looks at this when they do elfs in DA3.

Mule in relation to the size of their heads. The guy in Darktown whose ears were waaaaay long and pointed. Some of the images you posted their ears are just a little too long and stick out a little too far. And if you ever played WoW, then you would definitely say mule ears on Night Elves.

So then wouldn't it be more appropriate to say "mule heads" instead of "mule ears" (which I don't see either)?

And which guy? Tomwise?

Yeah him, someone did an homage to WoW Night Elves. I think he is the only one I ran across with those ears. And I apologize, my mule ears comment was in reference to WoW and Tom. More WoW than anyhing. I always hated the NE ears and long eyebrows. Thank goodness no one did that to the elves in DA2.

It's alaso not just elfs that got it bad, many old faces from DAO made it in bad. Only ones that came into DA2 looknig good was Cullen, Leli, Nate(even though his gray eyes where changed), Anders, Keeper, Merrill. The others felt like a drunk person made Bodhans, Morrigan(shutters) Teagan and Alistair.

It's just that the ears are to pronounced and stick out too far, hence my quip in regarding the song "Learning to Fly". But what most bothers is the bridge of the nose, nearly going straight up to the forehead, with no curve between the brow part of the nose to the tip. The Elves in Origins were much better. I wouldn't even have minded if they humanized them more along the lines of Jaheira from BG.

definitely not the best looking guy. But a nice enough chap.

Someone seemed to mod him though, and made him even worse imo:

We should probably start snipping pics if we quote them. Because I'm using a lot of pictures to prove things Image IPB

I thought one of the devs said that Morrigan wouldn't look as bad as one poster made and made a thread about it.

And I liked Bodahn. His eye color is the only problem but other than that I thought he was great.

take into account the lighting of the Camp in the second pic. The Camp was always at night time.

Sandal came back looking awesome though! And I like how he speaks more!

Dammit Eth! I'd like to agree with you at least once!:lol::lol: I hate his eye color, and I prefer the old Sandal look. Though I do like him talking more.

Take into account though that Sandal has aged. His new look is fitting considering 6 years passed from when we met him.

And Bodahn's eye color is the only thing that bothered me. Other than that he looks the same, so I don't hate him in DA2.

My problem with Bodhan is his eyes, and with Sandal it's the structure.

what do you mean the problem with Sandal is with his structure? He has the same design as the other dwarves.

I am with you on that. I dont' like Bodhan's eye color. For Sandal, not the color so much but the structure. Yeah, that's what bothers me too. I actually think I like his eye color (makes him more magical? Not enchantment!):D

God. With the exception of Varric, I hated every dwarf's eye color in DA2. They were cold and dead and staring into your soul FOREVER.

I was far more bothered by the head to body ratio for elves. It makes the elves look like stretched cildren... or slender chibies, this goes double for the female models since they look even more stretched with their tiny shoulders. The only ones that pull off the whole body look for me are Fenris and Orsino. I got to the point where I could accept the weird nose and ear look and then I see a full body of a female elf and want to pry my eyes out, Merethari's robe is even deformed on the model, the circle in the waist made into an oblong shape.

I know 'that's just, like, your opinion, man' but aaaarrrrgh it bothers me.

It doesn't look it. Maybe they need to go a shade darker. Because that shade of blue is weird like.

Ery that's a bit unfair don't you think? Hurlock Alphas in Origins were just better armored Hurlocks. Nothing original.

It seems to be the case for this "new" Hurlock Alpha as well to me -- the guy is just wearing a helmet and is in the middle of that jaw-splitting hiss that all hurlocks love to do. Heck, you can see said regular hurlock do the very same thing in the picture right above, on the right side.

I gotta agree with this sentiment.  I always had the feeling that Merril was like a child.  Her appearance and overly meek personality, combined with her lithe build made me quite "uncomfortable" with the idea of romancing her.
