Everything in DA2 is too plastic and smooth, heres what I advise.
1. Better textures on faces of all races and mobs..
2. More weight on Elves and less guant.
3. Less ghost like Darkspawn and better / more amounts of armour.
4. Fix the hair already so doesn't look like lego.

Yep.
There was nothing inherently wrong with the Darkspawn in DA2 -
Its just in DAO - They looked like intelligent, evil, corrupted versions of their associated races. In DA2 - they looked like mindless fidgety skinny orcs.

Quite a few people complain about Merrill's neck when she's in her second armour that doesn't have a scarf to hide it...The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...
that pic doesn't do Merrill justice. It makes her neck and body look horrifying when it really is very attractive.

That's a problem. Darkspawn shouldn't look intelligent. They were beasts, and meant to be. Until the Architect.

well I have a long neck myself so I'd feel like a hypocrite if I criticisized Merrill for having one.

5. Make the ogres actually scary like in DAO not soft, smooth tellitubbies like in DA2.

The arms and wrist is too skinny, the back is practically bones not just the neck. No wonder Hawke is hardly impressed in that image. What I imagine Hawke is thinking is my god Merrill eat something already and while you do that I'm going to be here day dreaming of non twiglet people like Isabella or even Aveline.

And there are scenes where Aveline's arms are contorted and as skinny as Merrill's, they look really bad.

Imho like everything else in DA2 (not including the change in direction from the first to begin with) they took every single little teeny weeny criticism and blew it way out of proporation making over the top changes.
As far as elves are concerned from what I have read it is only more modern depictions of elves that they gained the tall skinny frames after association with faeries. Before that they were just classed as higher wise, intelligent and beautiful beings. In those days big was beautiful and again it's modern idiology that thinner is beautiful and to the detriment of young girls health in both ways from too heavy due to easier lifestyle or too skinny with size zero models killing themselves to look thin. This is just my opinion and that list is what I personally would prefer however I do accept others may feel differently ofcourse.

I can agree with this, but the elves in DA2 look like hybrids with the one aspect coming from a donkey.

I never quite got why they changed from pointy upwards ears to puppy aka sidewards or alternativley as you so rightly said donkey ears... I prefer pointy upwards ears personally.
I will bow my head in shame now and admit that I do however like the Qunari new look... *Runs for cover!*
However I do think the body paint is a bit much.

I think it is so the ears can be seen through the hair, no matter the style. As we've seen from pictures posted earlier, in DA:O, elves with long hair were indistinguishable from humans.

I don't think the new ones look cuddly, but I do think the original ones looked more intimidating.
And what's with the emissary's gimp thong?

I would rather they used both game's designs, and re-named these pale hurlocks as a new subspecies.

But I do think the body paint is a bit much. I also don't see the need to make them blue given how different they look without change their colour, it just wasn't needed.
