Same here on the Meer/Hale thing, yes, I did choose not to mention it though, due to the flaming 'who's the better VA' inevitabilities.
Whoops, then?

And Meer sometime just don't give a **** about emotion, but he is a bad ass marine, so everything is alright
For me, it wasn't so much the lack of emotion as the lack of acting. I prefer professional VAs in my games, not some hobo.
If it's not already obvious, I only have one shep and she's female. She's not the character I started with, but damn me if she's not the character I finish with.

I just played through with Orion, and even though he looks fvcking great (especially with burning coals for eyes), I skipped almost every conversation, cutscene, and side mission. I'd simply played through ME2 too many times, and it became a chore.
However, a few weeks before that, I completed a full play through with Olivia, and she was a goddess. Utterly perfect. Best femShep I've ever made, and better than a modded Shepard. Never skipped a convo, didn't miss a side quest, and basically went full paragon so that I could see her beauty, strength, and intelligence even after her scars had healed. Best time I've had with ME2.

Also, it seems off when I play FemShep. She seems less realistic (Insert a dismissive response pointing out that the entire world is space fantasy, so its all unrealistic). I just wish that they incorporated variety in the two Shepards. It makes the game politically correct by making them carbon copies, but I sincerely believe it takes away something from the story, squandering plenty of potential.
There are things that women are physiologically proven to be better at on average, and likewise for men. I wish the game would incorporate something like that. Just more differences would be nice. The only differences I can think of in ME2 is that they batarian recruiter doesn't take you as serious if you are female, and Gianna Parasini kisses you if you do her quest as a male and choose the right dialogue.
While the question wasn't "Why don't you play the other Shep as much", I think it ties in. If the two Sheps led to two unique experiences, I would probably enjoy FemShep more. As it is right now, its the same character with different voice actors. Which leads me to my last point...
For neutral or renegade characters, Meer's delievery really works. Its filled to the brim with "I don't give a ****". Nobody can be a jerk better than MaleShep. I think Jennifer Hale did a better job in ME1, but in ME2, her voice acting was really bad to me. Her 'interaction' with Jacob was absolutely terrible if you don't choose to romance him.

I have one femshep playthrough out of 11 in ME1 and one playthrough out of 15 in ME2. Lets be honest here: Hale's performance in ME1 was VASTLY superior to Meer. In ME2, she was terrible, trying way too hard to sound tough and in all the wrong places.
Meer also had a few cringe worthy deliveries in ME2 but Hale's near constant attempts at sounding threatening just outweigh them. I blame direction more than Hale though. It is entirely possible that the VA director in the studio told her to sound like that.

I was planning on playing the first game with 3 of each but after a difficult struggle to motivate myself to complete the game once with a manshep, I kept as femshep in my other playthroughs
I found manshep more bearable in the second game so added a second manshep for that

I play femshep secondary and agree with this. Some of the action scenes (especially renegade) don't seem right with femshep. Maleshep looked silly headbutting a Krogan but Femshep doing it is silly to cartoonish proportions. She's not a man and shouldn't be portrayed as such. As it stands now she's little more than a female look and sound for maleshep. ME3 might improve this but I doubt it.

I personally have no problem playing either gender in any game but for ME i've found the only way to play is with Femshep, I connect with her more.
